That makes 3 clans still available Alan, though the minor clan provinces can be activated if there is more players than major clans.

We will be using Sengoku Jidai default/Three Unifiers and Opponents (Chosen Daimyo/clan - 1570). You may need default off in some cases. Medium/Pot luck terrain

1st round starts 10 am Friday 18th November (NZ time) 9pm 17th November (GMT).
  • Remember, no one is knocked out until we have a winner (Shogun). If you lose more than half your provinces you become a retainer and may still issue challenges.
  • Challenger to post challenge.
  • All games are medium, open battle (except home province challenges)
  • Pot luck terrain
  • Both armies must be those available in 1570 (You may have to turn default off)
  • Challenges should be posted on this forum
  • Please advise challenges in the following format:- (Name) challenges (Name) for (province name).
  • Winner please advise result in the same format:- (Name) beats (Name) % and claims (province name).
  • 2nd round will be advised by pm after all 1st round game results and new map allegiances are posted on this forum.

In the meantime here's some background as to the situation in 1570. Feel feel engage in friendly banter and scheming with other daimyō (but remember only one can be shogun!)

smjohnso77 (Uesugi Kenshin) is now Daimyo of the Uesugi clan
He is one of the most powerful daimyō of the Sengoku period. Known as the "Dragon of Echigo", while chiefly known for his prowess on the battlefield as a military genius

Doyley50 (Takeda Shingen) is now Daimyo of the Takeda clan
He is a pre-eminent daimyō in feudal Japan. Known as the "Tiger of Kai", he was one of the most powerful daimyō with exceptional military prestige in the late stage of the Sengoku period. Shingen was a warlord of great skill and military leadership.

Ahuyton (Hojo Ujiyasu) is now Daimyo of the Hojo clan
He is generally regarded as the finest of the five Hojo daimyo. However, Hojo Ujiyasu dies later in 1570, and the fourth daimyo Hojo Ujimasa (1538- 1590) will find himself as busy with diplomatic negotiations as his father had been with fighting.

PeterThePainter (Tokugawa Ieyasu) is now Daimyo of the Tokugawa clan
He is one of the three "Great Unifiers" of Japan, along with his former lord Oda Nobunaga and fellow Oda subordinate Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

Snugglebunnies (Asakura Yoshikage) is now Daimyo of the Asakura clan
Yoshikage needs to avoid betrayal by his cousin, Asakura Kageaki in 1573. He will try to avoid and rewrite the destruction of his clan and his fate of ritual suicide at Rokubō Kenshō-ji temple.

Kiwiwarlord (Oda Nobunaga) is now Daimyo of the Oda clan
Nobunaga is regarded as the first "Great Unifier" of Japan. He is the head of a very powerful clan who will undoubtedly launch a war against other daimyō to unify Japan and defeat the Ikkō-ikki rebels

GDod (Rennyo the 8th Monshu/head priest) is now leader of the Ikki Ikko
The Ikki Ikko are backed up by the power of Jōdo Shinshū Hongan-ji sect of Buddhism who oppose the rule of all governors or daimyō. He will try to avoid forming alliances and quarreling with two brothers of the Togashi family who will try and persuade the ikki ikko to side with Togashi Masachika.

Lascar (Akai Naomasa) is now leader of the Akai clan
The Akai clan had branches in Tanba and Kōzuke provinces. Those in Tanba were based in Kuroi Castle in the Hikami District. In 1570, the Akai clan will try to not surrender to Oda Nobunaga.

Rule clarification for players.
There are no rounds or turns in the traditional sense as the intention is a replicate a contiguous struggle for control of Japan. A player's turn/round is linear but may differ from another player because it is dependent on how fast their challenges/games are resolved.

Q. How many challenges may I issue?
A. One at a time.

Challenges are contiguous but only
  • when the previous attack has been resolved and posted on the forum, and
  • no other attack/defense is currently underway for that province and
  • you haven't just posted an unsuccessful result for a challenge this province

However, it is possible that a player may be defending a number of their provinces continuously from the same player intent on making you a retainer, or from different players.

Question, Gavin this implies that a Player can declare an attack on all of another Players Provinces ( except any that are already defending against an Invader ) so have 3-5 invasions Posted in one Challenge ????

ie I could declare an Invasion on A Home Province and all other Provinces of One Clan.
