The specialization Bomber Stream and Combat Box still don't seem to work as intended. They give way too much air defense.
I had tested this at least two years ago when the Allied DLCs weren't out yet, but the specs already in. No problem if they aren't officially supported yet.
Now, years later and officially in the game and campaign trees of Brit and US, I'm very disappointed that they still don't really work (and no one bothers yet. Okay, I know strat bombers usually suck! ).
I had to wind up the large-air attack to something like 100 to finally see a scratch on a strat bomber protected by adjancent ally strat bomber. It's like the spec - Bomber Stream and Combat Box use the same code btw - multiplies the air defense by 10 or something.
The test in the screenshots below is with an unmodded game besides the increase in large-air attack.

Well, strat bombers are actually quite useful. This should definately be dealt with. Thx for reporting, I wasn't aware of this.

Fixed in 9.2.5.
Amazing how quickly this got fixed when finally reported. All thanks to multiplayer with tournaments where invulnerabilities don't make good press (since two years, but who cared about strat bombers?).
It basically gives cuddling strat bombers +4 Air Defense now, instead of like +100 before.

Wellll, we all do mistakes.
I was going to change the text file about bomber_stream when I read following:

spec_bomber_stream_descr = Developing the possiblities of tighter bomber formations increases their mutual protection by overwhelming the enemy's air and ground defenses.
spec_bomber_stream_effect = • Strategic bombers have increased air and ground defense when placed adjacent to other strategic bombers

Oops, no AA vs Air damage change for Bomber Stream and Combat Box!
Same result with Naval vs Air damage. That should include the defense bonus too!

That ground def bonus has been offed, onyl the air def bonus remains -- the text will be adjusted for it.
