Unit near left edge of screen 'floating'

Anybody had an issue where they could not move a unit, and the base was 'floating' off the battlefield? No drugs were involved, honest! 
You mean it was in the black area off the edge of the map?
That is where units go when they go off the map. They are not supposed to be visible, but there is some glitch (which we have not been able to identify) that means that sometimes they are.
