Forced March? +1 move point, cooldown 3 turns. How is it activated and when? what happens during cooldown? and then how this relates to Speed and Initiative? followed by the most effective way to combine these Traits for maximum utilization? should Mannstein with his Zero Slots be involved with Consolidator added or is Consolidator too valuable elsewhere? i know this is a plateful but having read various posts about the Spanish Unit dominating seems I'm missing out?

Just check any infantry unit that's not a engineer, grenadier/HW nor bridge engineer. Forced March gives you a skill to the bottom left corner where you manually activates it to gain additional movement for this turn.

HW? so after the extra move, does cooldown mean no move for 3 turns?

Forced march only works for light infantry and cavalry. It extends the range by 1 hex. There are no negatives for cooldown, i.e. the unit will move normally during the next turn. IIRC, the cool down is only one turn.

Spanish infantry's unique trait is it has rapid fire 1.5x.
iirc it has a low-ish close combat value, so manstein's vigilant trait on it is useful, in a way it wouldnt be on a pioniere.
If you add the ignores entrenchment hero, it becomes basically a super pioniere

A unit with Forced March can cross a minor river and attack in one turn. One of the AI’s favorite tricks.
