3 things maybe too late to add, but would be nice to have

There are a few historic battles/situations that cannot really be simulated in FoG2 (as yet) (especially not as custom battles):
- 1. Bad weather battles, e.g. greatly reduced LOS, muddy ground
2. Battles where one side is entrenched/semi-fortified, e.g. attacking a Roman camp
3. Ambush battles: larger side sets up in an uncomfortable, cramped "marching position", smaller side gets nearly the whole map to set up wherever it wants

2 and 3 sort of exist already in FoG2 Medieval. 1 would be nice though, since the game has rules for bad weather.

I'd like to see an option to reduce visible range or a potluck setting to generate a random range of maximum visibility.
An option to send a command on a flank march or hold them off board as a later arriving reserve.

Yes, an option to set visible range from default 20 to something between say 4 and 32 would be nice.

Now that would be excellent - in restricted visibility, this would definitely place a premium on winning the skirmishing fight and therefore reconnaissance.
