It can be quite a busywork to manage a very large list of heroes (common for any AO cores that have been imported since the Spanish Civil War).

While a search/filtering function would be great, a simpler feature can still go a long way in terms of Quality of Life : sorting heroes in alphabetical order of their (first) trait (in case they have multiple ones), instead of the order in which they were received.

That way at least the regular one-trait heroes would be grouped together for easy access. Sure for multiple trait heroes one might have to scroll somewhere else than one would find intuitive, but since one-trait heroes are the norm, it would help.

In fact, sorting the list first by *number* of traits in descending order (so legendary heroes with tons of traits first, then fewer and so on) and for each individual trait number category go alphabetical on the (first) trait would be a step up.

Obviously, a full solution with a search bar and *lots* of filters would be ideal, but I imagine sorting the list as it is right now after something else than order in which the hero was received would be much cheaper development-wise (dare I hope it would arrive in a patch well before the next AO?).

+1 to hero sorting. or even just bunch up the same heroes together. like ferocious defense x6 or zero slots x2. i know the game assigns each hero a name but besides galland and mansteins son, I honestly cant remember my double attack hero name. i say just bunch them up so i can see how many of what i have and what would be some good combinations

I think Edmon hinted in one of his AO runs recently that there will be an overhaul to the hero management system that makes some improved UI. I even expected it in the AO 1943 one, but possibly it will arrive later.
