The Novodevichy monastery was saved from destruction by one of the nuns, who miraculously managed to put out the ignited fuse of explosives when the French retreated.

In the Battle of Paris, the French army lost 6,000 men (3,500 killed, 2,500 wounded and prisoners).
The coalition lost 18,000 men (8,000 dead and 10,000 wounded).
