Can Moscow be taken?

So, I am on the last scenario of Blitzkrieg.

I have two impregnable VP taken, with plenty of 5 star tanks, ludicrous artillery numbers (Eight batteries) and elite infantry.
I really neglected to defend the rear secondary points (silly me I misread the objectives) but I have three five star Stukas and can spare 1 or 2 infantry units from the front-lines and I think they'll hold just fine.

Now I realized that actually I could MAYBE take Moscow, even if now the mission switched to defensive.
It would be a bloodbath and take lots of time (the AI turns started to get very long).
The enemy has many entrenched 13 strength units with at least 3 203 mm batteries but I totally broke their thrusts on my forward positions and I think that I could make it with a mad rush.

Now, without getting into spoilers, I would like to know:

1) Is this actually possible or is the AI going to pull some underhanded "designer" tricks?
2) Do I get anything? A different ending, some rewards or anything else different from the standard victory?

If "bragging rights" is the only thing I could get, I'd rather avoid this slog.

You will achieve nothing, there is no other ending IMO

Agreed, I too was in a position where I thought "I can take Moscow here", however in games terms it will do nothing. No bonus :)

Treat it as the folly of high command that their incompetence prevents your stroke of brilliance that would win the war in the East :)

I'm currently play-testing a custom Operation Typhoon campaign which ends with a bonus what-if scenario allowing you to capture Moscow.

I just replayed Blitzkrieg and Panzerkrieg. Doing more than required (e.g. capturing all the map, destroying all the enemy forces) gives no reward at all. It causes you additional losses, which might send you into a downward spiral...

Thanks, I'll just follow Command's orders then, i am not really in the mood for a massacre, those 5 stars units costs an eye to elite reinforce.
