We have now held a good number of multiplayer tournaments for Order of Battle, with lots of different players coming through the gates to join us, and we're planning to keep organising new and interesting tournaments throughout 2022 and beyond.

However, it also now feels like a very good time to test the mettle of our very best players! So, presenting the Order of Battle Invitational!

We have sent an email invite out to ~40 of our best players. Those who have finished in the top 10 in any of our tournaments (from Red Storm Release onwards) and a few others who have narrowly missed the top 10's but have shown exceptional commitment to the cause! When the Boot Camp tournament ends on the 3rd April, I will also extend an invite to any of the top 10 who are not already invited.

The tournament will start on the 7th of April and you'll be able to follow along with the scores on our website (link soon). I'm also hoping that our players will save and upload replays so that the community can see some elite gameplay in action!

I have a couple of questions about the scenarios to be used in this tournament.

1. Will these scenarios be updated to include any CP Block or CP Delay features?

2. I believe the first round scenario is Karelian Kesa. I appear to have 2 copies of the tournament setting version. The only difference I have found so far is the terrain of the silver target hexes in the middle. One version has them all being European Villages. The other has one Open Terrain, one Beach and two Difficult Terrains. Do you know which one we are using for this tournament?

The won't be a patch available before this contest starts, so we wouldn't be able to update the local copies of the maps... There's theoretically a way to update the server versions to add CP delay... But I'm not sure if it would work

I believe the latest Kesä has towns in the middle that have no deploy zones around them.

Any loses in your turn (either through poor attacks or through disbanding) won't give you their value in Command Points until the start of your next turn.

It essentially slows down players who may wish to disband and rebuild in order to reposition their units

Thanks for organizing this invitational. I trust the CP delay is on even that there is no remark of it in the scenario details?

Hello Shards. In your last invite to this tournament you mentioned that CP Delay would be active in this tournament. it is not indicated in any of the objectives or help menu for this first round. Can you confirm that it is indeed being used in these battles? It can make a big difference in strategy and tactics. I am guessing that since it is being applied through the server that it just won't show up in the objectives or mission statements. Thanks.

It is being used.

I can't update the scenario text remotely so could only switch the setting on. It should certainly be active though.

Is there anyway to nudge my opponent? I've only deployed one force so far and am yet to play a turn and as someone who'd prefer to only do a turn a day, the time's a wastin'!

Let's hope it works. What happens if they don't show? As the scoring is on a points system, I assume I'm sunk?
