Anyone else struggling with multiplayer?

I can log on eventually but constantly have to but in my username. My password it remembers but every time my initial sign-in attempt fails then it asks me again with my username as blank so it does not recognise me. I then say 'no' to try again and type in my username, that works. But I have to type my username every time. never used to have to do that.

However my fellow player in MP games cannot log in to the server at all. His username and password are retained but he constantly gets the message that he's not logged in, despite just trying. For the record, he has uninstalled, deleted all directories and files then re-installed. To no avail, the server will not log him in despite his credentials being present.

Any thoughts from the slitherine staff?

In the first instance, can you please try changing/resetting your password via the website?

That should rule out any potential issues from that side.

Ta Shards, is that the same login id as here then? So just do it via my profile and then try posting here and signing in to an MP game?

Just checked in with the server team.

For some users (probably Matrix vets), your PBEM password was different to the samelogin password that you use here and on the website.

From this point onwards you need to use your Website password to login to all systems. Can you please try using that within OOB to see if it lets you in successfully?

Ta, ok done that and altered the password to the unified login. For me it made no difference, new password works but PBEM userid has to be typed in every time. At least I can still log in and it's not great shakes, just vexing.
I'll check with my technophobe opponent if it helps him at all.

Can you try renaming your options.dat file that can be found in

\Documents\My Games\Order of Battle - WW2\Settings

It will reset your Options&Settings (so sound, intro movie etc), but it should also clear the cache of your PBEM username.

No, that didn't work. First time after doing that it came up username and pw all blank, I entered them and it signed in. But when I shut it down and fired it up again same thing, username blanked out and pw still filled in. As I say, it's not the end of the world but a pain.

I've yet to hear back from McAuslin about him not being able to logon at all as he's away but I'll advise as soon as I know.

It's nice to know people are looking into it, but really wish this would get sorted out. Been going on for a while now and it's definitely a pain.

So my regular opponent is still unable to login to the servers.

His username is McAuslin and he last had an email for that username on the 10th March telling him about his next turn.

He tried the reset password link and oddly his forum username associated with the email is 'Smirnoff'. He reset that password but it made no difference to his PBEM server access, he is still unable to log on. I've had him email slitherine support but they really seem to have screwed this up somehow for him.

I had this too for about two weeks but now it just won't let me into multiplayer because my "Serial is Invalid". Hope it gets fixed in time so I/we can finish the tournament.

Someone else was telling me they got the "invalid serial" error as well, only for it to go away a few hours later. I missed out on it, thankfully. Still irritated by having to sign in repeatedly though.

I thought I could sign-in normally but the enter user name bug is still there. But the Invalid serial is gone for now.
