Some things that went wrong...

I created a Pylos-Sphacteria scenario - well, Ok, it's just Sphacteria - then ran it, and got an historical result!
However, 1. The Athenians (Side 1) surprised the Spartans, so they should really go first. They went second. Is there any way to change that while still having the Spartans as the player side?.
1B: The Messenians who were supposed to turn up on turn 10 in the Spartan rear turned up on the first turn (I tried using the editor method for reinforcements). At least they didn't turn up twice!
2. I didn't want the inferior Athenian hoplites to just charge into the Spartan hoplites at the first opportunity, but I still want them to back up the light troops. There were very few casualties on the Athenian side in this battle historically, the hoplites didn't clash. How can I get the hoplites to get close to the Spartans without attacking them unless the Spartans are in trouble?
