The FOG2 version can be found here:

As the timeline progresses, the Silk Road also comes to the Middle Ages. It is the stormy twelfth century and the East Asian continent is shaken by war.
Alongside the classic Song
and Liao dynasties,

a new partner is rising.....
Two empires that had confronted each other for over a hundred years came crashing down within two years.

Awesome, really looking forward to seeing how this is fleshed out! Will you be adding flags/banners with each army I hope, to fit with the rest of the Medieval theme?
I do have a bug that seems to be repeatable - against Tibetans, every time you fight a battle against Tibet, I immediately receive "The enemy has lost heart! You are victorious!" I would presume, is that because the Tibetans don't have a fully fleshed out army roster yet and are "unplayable" so to speak?
Please do let me know and keep up the fantastic work!
Cheers.

Thanks for playing this mod! I'll check out the bug.
Regarding the banner, I haven't paid attention to this aspect before and will check out how to make changes afterwards.

If you haven't found them yet here are my banner creation guides:
Part 1:
https://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewto ... 92&t=88649
Part 2:
https://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewto ... 92&t=88650
Part 3:
https://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewto ... 92&t=88651
These guides were created for FOG2 Ancients, but will work for Medieval as well. Although the examples I give for how the text files look will be different in Medieval of course.
cheers
Paul

After a catastrophic defeat in the north, the remnants of the Song government retreated south of the Yangtze River and stabilised the battle lines. The experience of the war led the Song dynasty to make major reforms to its army. The complex formation of infantry mixed with archers and crossbowmen, which had been in place since the late Tang Dynasty, was abandoned. Infantry, archers and crossbowmen were reorganised into separate battle groups, while the density of troops was greatly increased and paired with stakes to repel the cavalry charge of the Jin army.
The Song dynasty made several attempts to return to the north, but all ended in military disaster. The first military handgun made in 1259, but the gunpowder weapon was unable to save the Song dynasty from defeat.

While the Jin and Song dynasties confronted each other along the Yangtze River, an obscure nomadic tribe was quietly rising in the northern grasslands under Jin rule. in 1206 Temujin, who now became Genghis Khan, announced the founding of the Mongol Empire.Mongol cavalry swept down to the Jin Dynasty, Western Xia and Tubo .... The powers of East Asia fell in droves.

World in 1235 AD
Under the leadership of Genghis Khan, the Mongols, originally vassals of the Jin dynasty, rose in rebellion in 1211. The war between the two sides lasted for 24 years. in 1227, after attacking the Western Xia, Genghis Khan died and his third son Voghtai took the throne. voghtai devoted all his Mongol forces to attacking the Jin dynasty and in 1232 allied with the Song dynasty and the two sides attacked the Jin dynasty together. in September 1233, the Song-Mongol allied forces besieged Cai Zhou, the last bastion of the Jin dynasty.
In February 1234, the city ran out of food and its walls were destroyed by the allied forces. Emperor Wanyan Shousu passed the throne to Marshal Wanyan Chenglin and ordered him to break out in order to hold out for battle.
On 9 February, the new emperor was in the process of being crowned when the Song and Mongolian armies had break into the city. The new emperor led his troops in street battle after the ceremony was completed and was killed, bringing about the end of the Jin dynasty.

In 1259 Mongke, the Great Khan of all Mongolia, died suddenly while attacking the Song Dynasty. Both Kublai and Ariq Böke, the Khan's brothers, declared themselves the new Khan.
The Golden Horde, the Chaghatai Khanate and the Voghtai Khanate all declared their support for Ariq Böke, while the Il Khanate pledged its allegiance to Kublai.
The empire that spanned the world was plunged into civil war!

I have played the new version. Much more balanced overall in terms of unit quality and armor and more in line with the rest of the game. Really good work.
I guess there are still some WIP factions, but it seems more complete than before.

Thanks for the advice, I'm gradually making the styles and values of the various factions more compatible with the original FOG2

Love the new version, mate, keep up the fantastic work. It's certainly more balanced than prior versions and every single one is a significant improvement.
Hope to see you update the aesthetics (banners/flags etc.) to match FOG2 better over time, like you said.
Keep up the good work!

I made a multiplayer game of Yuan vs Song, but it shows up as if I don't have the module in the lobby and games created. I'm not sure if it'll affect the ability to enter or play the match yet. I don't think the Ancients version had this problem.

Normally this message would mean that you don't have the
SILKROADMP2.0
folder in
/Documents/My Games/FieldOfGloryMedieval/MULTIPLAYER
But it must have been there to create the challenge in the first place. Are you sure you have not deleted it?

One possibility occurred to me, but I needed a little time to test my idea.

There is now a v2.1 (MP) available for in-game download, which hopefully fixes the MP Lobby issue.
