the next phase of the game and disappears when the scenario ends.

You probably had full core slots so you bought an aux unit which does not transfer over to the next campaign

There is a counter on the top of the screen, that is how many core units you can have. You can also place units in reserve if you have too many units. Like Buying more aircraft for the Aircraft only missions

It's the numbers in the center top of your screen. This forum is very limited on what I can do. I took screen shots and all but the attachments here don't work and drag and drop upload doesn't work either.
In the middle of the screen you'll see something like 33/36. That means you have used 33 of your 36 slots. Each unit when you're shopping has the number of slots it uses listed on it. Once you have bought enough units to fill up your slots you'll see the units in the shop all go dull to where you can't buy them.
If you need to buy more troops to use instead of tanks (and there are times you will do that) you will first have to go to your active unit list, click on a tank and then click the little arrow that looks like a sort of undo arrow. Hover over it and it will say "Send to Reserve". Click that and the tank will vanish to reserve and that will open up slots to use so that you can then go to the store to by troops.
You switch back and forth from the reserve to active units at the top of the box where the units are listed.
Let me know if you're still confused and I'll make a full guide for you on my forum and send you a link.

I don't use Facebook. I don't know anybody that does anymore.
I'll go ahead and work on a manual for you made of screen shots. I'll post a link in a bit for you.
Here you go. This should get you through it all:

I still have to ask ... did I buy all the DLC games when they start the campaign in Spain to go convert the trained units to the 1940 campaign? Thank you

Your Core from AOSCW can be imported into AO39.
Your Core from AO39 can be imported into AO40. Does not require AOSCW.
Note Pz1b will import as a Pz1b, T26 as a T26. They cam be upgraded without losing experience or Awards.
