Axis Operations 1942 - Novorossiysk

I have played this scenario numerous times but cannot seem to beat it. I am playing normal, have many leaders, plenty of Prestige. It seems that only having 20 turns is about 5-8 turns short.
If you try to run all the way to the last victory hex it takes 12-15 turns full out leaving only a few turns to take the huge defensive line at the end.
I have run down the middle, on the sides, numerous ways, etc. I even tried massive para drops. The AI just chews them up.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what I can do to beat this scenario?

If you update your game version, this was one of the changes in the big 1942 update:
11Novorossiysk
Chance for Clouds reduced from 20% to 10%
Turn limit increased from 20 to 25
CORE slots increased from 100 to 115
Campaign prestige increased from 1500 to 3000
2 Train transports have been made available

After updating, you have to load from a scenario before Novorossiysk to see the update take effect.

thank you! I thought I had the latest patch, but I see now I didn't.
I'm trying to update but the updater is extremely slow.

Updated to 1.2.3 but it doesn't change the scenario data, forex, turn length is still 20.
I tried restarting scenario but that doesn't work.
Do I need to start the Axis Operations 1942 all over again???

Yes. If you have a saved game from before the update, it will retain the same parameters. So what you need to do is load the last save file from the scenario right before it, end the map, and then you'll see the changes on the next.
