I originally bought the General Edition and have been updating it to later versions over the following months and am currently on version 1.01.21.
So can anybody explain what this below on the store page is exactly?
What's it for, what's in it,do I need to buy it, and why isn't it free of charge?

It's for people who originally just bought the base game and wish to upgrade to the General Edition. Initially it contained about 75 extra camo textures, some scenarios, access to the music and some other quality of life features. However at the time of writing the camo count is in the hundreds and will keep increasing, so the value of the General Edition will increase over time.

From what you say you've already paid for it and will keep recieving the free updates when ever they're released ( usually when we release a DLC ). So you don't need to get it.
