Some units take long to fire

Some units, e.g. tanks and artillery, take awfully long to fire after being given the fire command, sometimes up to 20 seconds. Infantery and fighters shoot without delay.
I already changed the video settings to low, but that doesn't help. Can I speed this up somehow?
