No Pacific for Christmas if that's what you're wondering. No date announced, just early 2022. Nothing on AO.

But...the beta is now open to apply for Pacific Corps. Go to "Store" on top of this page and from there you can find "Betas" under "Coming Soon." You must be signed into your Slitherine account (same as this forum).
Edit: Correction, after store it's under "Community"

It sounds like we'll be playing as the Allies in this dlc and it's only the first part of the war. At least that's what I gathered from the stream. Shame we aren't getting the dlc for Christmas. Then again it sounded like had to rework how naval warfare works for pacific. I wonder if that'll get ported to AO campaign?

Hehe, i never play betas, i think i would be a terrible beta tester

I prefer enjoying and experiencing content, when its release. And i will buy Pacific to support this great game) but i wont play it before i finished AO. Im not interested in the next series of dlcs that will take x years to finish, before AO is finished.
So im kinda sad that AO will take many month for the next part, i would assume 6+ for AO43

Really guys? I'm dissapointed.
Normally you're all quick to jump to assumptions and making stuff up to try to force our hand. There were lots of clues, though not as many as we'd of liked due to some Covid shenanigans.
You should know by now that the 1943 teams break was a few months ago and so it's now well under development. Due to its split timeline it requires a little extra thought to get right.
Pacific is a different team and has been in development for several months. I don't have release dates for either but as ever they won't be released simultaneously as that really would be foolish.
From the Twitch and previously released screen shots you would see that all the terrain and units are feature complete ( if not entirely final ) including versions for regular sand and black sand based terrain for the likes of Iwo Jima. Lots of new US planes and vehicles that were pretty specific to the Pacific. Lots of Japanese aircraft and vehicles and then the usual selection of new camo to cover army and naval airforces.
They showed autumn coloured terrain. Much of the Pacific area fought over does not have visible seasons in the way that many of us in the Northern hemisphere would recognise, only having summer, winter ( a dry version of summer ) and rainy seasons. So what might this mean?
They showed examples of new ship to ship mechanics and rules changes offering more granularity of short term and long term damage, and differing types of damage from bombs and air-borne torpedoes. It was suggested that ships might be considered multi part objects with subsystems. So more tactical challenges and considerations. Will these changes be isolated to this DLC or will they be system wide? Thoughts?
This first DLC will be from the American perspective. From the scenario list it clearly doesn't cover the entire Pacific war so you know there'll be at least one more US DLC and we've already said there'll hopefully be a Japanese variant later. So you can assume the likelihood of 4 DLC for the Pacific. Maybe. Possibly.
And you got 3 free scenarios! SURPRISE!!

Which reminds me of an old T.V. series … I think it was titled [No Time For Sergeant's]. Anyway!... 'Gomer Pyle' was a 'Private' in that show... and his most used saying for the unexpected which-was a plenty enough occurrence of what was happening to him … so he always said... "Surprise!-Surprise!-Surprise!". So!... EXPECT to be "SURPRISED!!!"... "SURPRISED!!!"... "SURPRISED!!!"... .

To be honest, not really. you can release 2 dlcs per month and i would buy them (which not means i would play them asap i prefer finishing somethign before starting next stuff) or in other words: you can milk me dry

ok but ofc i can only speak for myself
aaaaand i still assume ao43 6+ month til release. i think thats a realistic timeframe with ao43 after pacific and pacific in first half of 2022. but hey prove me wrong

im still sad

Ah Pat - you are watering my mouth
I read somewhere that you reside in the Outer Hebrides so I am shure you got a lot of uisce beatha - Slainte
Mainland China, Australia - this sounds amazing. Maybe Kiska and Attu?
Like in good old Pacific General times - fight your way through either to India and Persia or through Australia to the Mississipi - just to meet both ways the Germans
AWESOME!
I like OoB much in China, Burma and the Pacific - but it is NOT Panzer General style.
They have an interesting approach but it drives me crazy when a small nearly dead unit cuts off my supply line - this seems odd to me.
And as I always said - take my money and bring on 1 DLC per month - better 2

The bonus scenarios are particularly welcome.
Just completed a 10+ hour recording of my 3rd playthrough of Defenders of the Reich.
Some NEW scenarios will be great

Any comments on that scenario are welcome. It planned to be revisited, alongside the past DLC Commendation Point visibility change.
Mostly touching up improvement, for example changing the old unsupplied units target dummies to the new broken vehicles, and changing the ruins of Berlin from deserts to hexes with battle damage.

First of all: I absolutely love the Defenders scenario! I've played it start to finish 3 times. And before that I had a couple of failed attempts...
A visual enhancement would be great, as would using target dummies.
As for gameplay:
1. I'd set the Aux slots to 0. Either you keep those aux units alive or you lose the slots. As it is I too easily use the 150 aux slots as extra core slots.
2. The only useful useful armor units offensively are E-75 & Jagdtiger. Esp. mid-late game. Which is kind of a downer as I'd like to play with more varied equipment but can't afford to. Panthers and semi-ok due to their speed and Jagdpahters OK bc high attack but really, why not go all Tiger? E-75 & Jagdtiger with OS and stars is the only way to hit hard AND save prestige by not taking damage. A 3-start E-75 at str 13 is typically too tough for the AI excepting the final wave of super-armor. It's not the scenario's fault but perhaps its a mistake to make E-75, UFO jets and the like commonly available.
3. Rewards are either good or they are pretty much useless. Prestige is always good. A 15 str Jagdtiger is good. 2 PzIIIN + Nashorn is good. Flamm-track and grenadiers? Marders? Old PzIVs? Early-mid game I upgrade a lot until I hit the 300 slot cap and after that it doesn't really matter too much. The trash units I turn into prestige, the others are used to take extra flags. I'd like a bit of an overhaul and a bit more variety.
4. The Americans are easily bottlenecked at the major river. Even if they do not appear it's just good insurance to keep a covering force protecting the two bridges. They never get any bridge engineers so the way the AI is programmed the American's can't really breach the river if you protect it properly. The Brits and Soviets are more challenging, although the 100+ stacks of Conscripts are just a gimmick.
5. It would perhaps be better if the waves are not entirely random between the three factions. I'm not sure how the random seed generator works but every time it's heavily skewed towards 1 or 2 factions. The scenario is the most fun when there is SOME threat from every quarter. Maybe a mix of faction-locked waves and random waves?
6. The late game is boring. The final boss wave CAN be challenge if it takes you by surprise, but at this stage your either dead or have masses of units that can delay the enemy long enough for the turn counter to reach 50. So the late games needs to step it up.
7. The early game with Berlin being encircled - esp with the new para rules which slow down your drop schedule - is a tad bit hard on non-veterans. It's very much doable to relieve the city but without the right approach newer players will more likely fail than not.

Do you know if the ship changes will be ported to AO's previous installments? I imagine it would change how some missions would play out, even in minor ways.
