New Custom Hero

Hi all your clever people making mods.

I have a question to any of you - How can I create my own custom Hero and ad him/her to any given scenario/campaign ?

Im total newbee in this so I need an in debt and detailed explanation :wink:

You create the hero and the specs in a LUA file and a trigger in the PanzerCorp editor. If you want a custom portrait for the hero and there is none in the PanzerCorps 2 folder for that person you can create the custom portrait with Unreal Editor (an app downloadable for free) using an existing jpg, png type file.

You have to create the LUA file with a program like Notepad++. You basically reverse engineer one of the existing LUA files from the campaigns. There are several examples of heroes that are created throughout the DLC's. If you are more specific about what you are going to do I could show you how to do it.

I would like to create The Pz Hero Michael Wittmann - it could be awesome if there was some traits we could choose from like the ones in AO 1941 and 1942

If you check out our Grand Campaign(1939 to 1945) mod and go to the LUA files for GC1939 we create Michael Wittman as a recon hero in the Bydgoszc scenario. We give him traits at this time to represent his function at the time. In GC1941 in the Metaxas Line scenario we retire the old Wittman hero and promote him by creating a new hero that is an artillery specialist. In GC1943 when released he will be promoted again.

Yes - but now after v1.02.01 Update today this user campaigns no more run with the correct heros - they created a new system for the Lua heros.
Why they destroy this nice user made work ?

These are things that happen with the updates, so you have to update the mod to make it compatible again. This is part of the risks of the "business" of modder...

Its no more possible with the new exe I think. they dont like advanced modding, we have to play only the DLCs. So actually PC2 is a game without any advanced modding community. After 1,5 years from the release PC1 had an immersive modding stuff for new units, paramenters, audio briefings, etc. In PC2 for now there is nothing.....

PzC2 is a much more complex game than PzC1 so more difficult to modd.

Thats right - but what you dont understand is, that there were some guys to mod PC2 - but the developers have locked that with the new exe. Is it ringing for you now ?

I am not HBalck, but I like to play his stuff - far more advanced than most in this forum !
