curious about situations where you maximize the Consolidator Hero vs the 1.5/2x shots. for example. Is an Tank more lethal at 20 OS or 15 OS with the 1.5 or 2.0 Hero?

Personally I use it on 1 core unit like anti-air (flakvierling, vickers AA) or anti-tank units (pak 36) on second choice.
otherwise I combine it with a zero slot hero

20 OS = 20 shots
10 S + 2x = 20 shots
15 OS + 1.5x = 22 shots
20 OS + 2x = 40 shots
. . .
Consolidator works well with Prudent, as unit takes losses its defense goes up. See DeGaulle AO40.

And don´t forget Avenger ,with both the OS unit after losing 10 stregth points is a nightmare

thanks ! I didn't realize OS number = shots. so a 15 OS with the shot multiplier is more powerful than the 20 OS without it? 22 to 20. guess the OS applies more to defense or strength left after being attacked. so during an attack will the 2 units lose the same say -3 off both the 15 and the 20? does the shot multiplier also help on defense?

Each strength point equals a shot, so over-strength is more shots.
Except for SingleEntity trait.
Shot multiplier does not directly affect defense.
But Dead or Suppressed Strength points don't shoot back, so can affect defense in that way.
See Initiative trait. [Shooting First is important]

Ok so high initiative with strikes first is good? how about with Hit and Run added?

Consolidator is a very powerful hero, as it has a few benefits that aren't so obvious:
1) Bigger units are relatively more resistant to suppression. 2 Suppression on a 10 strength unit is a 20% loss in capability, for a 15 strength unit it's just 15%. Looking at that in numbers terms, you have a unit doing 8 damage and one doing 13, nearly double.
2) It's a game of unit comparisons, which means bigger units will hit back harder when attacked.
3) The A.I. is less likely to attack a unit that is massive, fearing the counter attack damage.
I actually did a whole video on how overstrength affects units in my good-to-great series of guides.

No, high Init shoots first, that is what Init does.
Yes 'Hit and Run' works well with high Initiative units.
FirstStrike is for low Init units so they get their shots in.
