Issues with GOG purchased Panzercorps Gold

Hi all. Reposting on recommendation post made earlier on tech forums something ran into on lack of serial number we receive on GOG versions of Pzrcorps Gold needed for a few user DLC's:
Having an issue don't know how to work around. Purchased Pzrcorps Gold from GOG little over a month ago. No serial as found out. Never thought any issue, until tried to install few DLC's, like Pazcific corps, older ostfront etc which requires one. Have researched online and GOG used to issue one prior to 2018, but after sending support emails to them. Found out they now do not and they recommended contacting Slitherine.
Thinking some of you old timers may know of a way to work around this perhaps? I'm not a newbie. Worked with Slitherine years ago testing multiple versions of Combat Mission and was a very good friend of Sean when he was involved with it. Email used must be long gone for account, because couldn't figure out one to continue old one for life of me.

If you absolutely need a key, there is a legal way to buy a cheap Steam key on some legal sites for this type of old game.

Thanks Terminator. Something akin to this probably what will be required to do when comes time to actually try out these to play. Slitherine support also (contacted them) placed everything at feet of user made DLC's. Making blank Main.TXT and Panzercorps.TXT also does not work, same CRC error.
Sent both GOG and Slitherine all proof of purchase info. Maybe this time getting title without DRM was a mistake.
Rehashing this out here in some detail in case someone comes along later again and runs into same thing as I did. Might add went back to vs. 1.22 patch wise and did same thing.
Still seems to be a grand game which like a lot with built in DLC's and few of the mods have found work with the mod enabler.

I don’t think the problem is that you bought a free DRM game from GOG. I bought a lot of games from GOG myself. The problem is rather on the side of these old mods that were made with an old version of PanzerCorps and that have not been updated.

Does anyone have those old Main.txt and Panzercorps.txt files on hand?
Could be worth it to copy the file structure and replace the actual key with some random alphanumerical one, which has the same format.
I somewhat doubt those mods are able to check for the actual key, but they might trip over the file structure.

Do those files contain any other private information besides the serial number?

Perhaps it would be possible to have the content of those files posted, but the serial number is replaced by Xs?
eg within the code </> tag or the quotation tag ":
or whatever the serial and file contents look like

To make these old mods compatible with the latest version of the game, you would have to redo all the scenarios from scratch...

There’s only one line: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
These two text files are files of the original game that the player has and that must be added in the Mod installation folder.

The serial number is listed in the Windows registry if you have legally installed the game.
Ditto for each expansions and each DLC.

Thanks for that. Game is 100% legal and purchased from GOG. i did not see anything in reg. thru editor serial wise.
Nice thought and Thanks as well for how the Main.Txt and Panzercorps.Txt is supposed to look "inside". i tried and still crc error. It was worth the gambit and deeply appreciate it everyone. Guess am left with mostly newer mods, but that's fine.

GME works great. Have opened and at least looked at several mods. Hungarian (both), Volksmod,GCU, Elite Units. Hungarian (1st) and GCU have played a decent amount of and work fine well into them.

Good news, there is still hope in this case
The version of Ostfront Mod that I found in my archives would come from the Design Mod Project site and it is a stand-alone version but which requires both text files with serial...
But I found another version that looks newer and should be compatible with GME and would not require both text files with serial. To download it, you must register at

Downloaded some of the updated links provided above. Thanks everyone. Ostfron 4.2a works with GOG v1.31 Pzrcorps. Didn't have to go back with different older patches, anything. Outstanding graphics like the Hungarian mod the DMP team developed.
Grabbed several of the mods on that jettfoot site. few are newer than what had found earlier. HUGE thanks to everyone here for everything.
