A Roman Trilogy

A group of us has started playing converted FOG I campaigns to FOG II.

All campaigns are human vs human.

All campaigns consists of historical armies within this time period, on occasions there are new armies and amended armies

Just to confirm we have 8/9 players at the mo

I have attached, docs for present campaign.

I'll try and summarise.

1. Will need 10 players, who either vote on which campaign or just start on one.

2. Players choose their kingdoms/armies based on TDC rankings and or based on position in previous campaign

3. Will need 10 players, each player controls, 1, 2 or several kingdoms. On the spreadsheet you can see I am in control of Vardhana and Avars.

4. Starting up and firstly you can arrange treaties with potential enemies. You will see my potential enemies opposite to my kingdom (s)

5. Armies used for kingdoms are found in the Word doc. Sometimes I make minor changes based on either the army doesn't exist in FOG II so I find a substitute, historical reasons, I may have found some info that does not allow X units to be used or for balance sake.

6. You have 2 main armies to attack with, a 1500 point and 1350 point army (some players may receive bonus points at the beginning, just to balance things up slightly). On the spreadsheet, I used the 2 main armies with Vardhana. If you have more than 1 kingdom, you can use the 2 armies with one main army for 1 kingdom, the other main army for other kingdom. You can see that Kris has several kingdoms BUT he can only attack with 2 armies. You can only attack the enemies that are opposite your kingdom(s) on the spreadsheet

7. You could defend with one or both of the main armies. Otherwise a levy defence is used automatically, all levy defences are at 1175 points, see 9.

8. Orders would be, for example, 1500 point army attacks Byzantium and 1350 point army attacks Sassanids. You could have both defending if you wish. If you can use allies, you must specify which one.

9. Total starting points are based on the number of provinces you have. 21 provinces x 40 points each = 840 points. If defending a home province you receive an additional 75 points, capitol province is 150 points. So a levy defence defending both would have 1250 points and 1325 points respectively. Main armies would also receive the additional 75 or 150 points.

10. Each province is worth 40 points. If you gain an enemy province by defeating/routing the army , defending it you will receive 40 points. You may well receive additional points. For example if you won 50 - 25, you will receive an extra 10 points. If you had lost a province, you would receive -40 points but would have the 25 points from the battle. If you win a track, that is all of 1 enemy's provinces opposite you, you will receive an additional 40 points

It will take 1 or 2 turns to sink in.

Cheers

Eric

How much time are players allowed to resolve their battles that result from the turn?

3 weeks, it seems.

Hi Guys

For the first 2 turns, I am going to make it 4 weeks for battles to be resolved. As it is coinciding with a lot of tourneys at the mo. Just need 1 more player to cast his vote and then players choose which kingdom(s).

BTW the campaigns are open to all in the FOG II community. There is a generic set of rules but that can be changed. A group of players would need 10, 1 person running it. Once I know which campaign we'll use, I'll attach the spreadsheet

Cheers

Eric
