I played this mission for hours and really enjoyed it!

I was curious, do you think that removing the bug mounds reduces the intensity of the wave attacks? I found these mostly far to the right of the fort.

At the last mine is there any way to interact / suppress those bug holes or do you just have to manage the waves?

Edit: Is there away to close the doors? The radio bunker show's a connection but I couldn't figure out how to work the doors.

Edit: I totally missed the 3rd Rank abilities.

I really enjoyed this mission. Overall, I think this game definitely looks fun to play and it's heading in the right direction. The only thing missing for me was a pause button which will allow the player to issue orders while the game is paused so we can actually get to use those elite abilities.

Mhh yes an ability to supress These holen will be nice.
Something like a dmg count, with 1 or 2 grenades you collapse the hole so it's need x minutes for repair aso or directly with the flamer to close the hole so long the flamer attack them.
Or directly send your troops in so have to think about sending them into dead for closing the hole or kill some bugs and send them in to destroy the empty hole

As I read the UI, those holes are "linked" to a nearby conventional nest entry that can be collapsed. If so, collapsing the nest should disable the holes too. But there is not apparent Graphics to support that theory.

Ah, I didn't notice that the UI showed the bug holes as linked to the hive like the compound doors are linked to the radio bunker.

I suppose destroying the mounds stops the spawn whether those spawns remain stationary or join the attack waves would be another question. They probably have independent spawn timers as well.
