I have 'Bridging Unit' hero but when I attach it to e.g. Grenadier it does not act as bridging unit - my 'Brucken Grenadiers' cannot enter river hex, hence they do not setup the bridge.

When I put 'regular' bridging unit e.g. Brucken Pioneere insteead they can enter river and create a bridge.

What am I doing wrong?

I wasn't aware you could get this hero? I thought it was unused.

Did you obtain it with cheats or mods?

Yes, it was via cheat. I wanted to see how I can use it.

So this one was disabled? Do you know what was the reason behind it?

I don't think it was ever enabled in the first place.
They made a list of possible heroes and never got around to implementing a few.

Presumably, the reason it wasn't implemented was that it basically makes Bridging Units obsolete in a way I don't think any other Hero does to a type of Unit.

After all, which would you rather take into battle:

Bridge Engineers/Bridge Tank that has little to no way to attack or defend itself and thus is pretty much useless outside of allowing you to cross rivers.

Or a Heavy Infanty/Tiger tank/etc. that has a Bridge Hero assigned, allowing you to cross rivers and the unit can fight properly.

That hero has never been implemented. It simply doesn't work.
