With DL season ended, I'm looking to start the next season of Chaos Tourney. With the coming release of the next DLC, I'm wondering if folks would prefer to hold off starting till after that is out, so we can add those armies to the mix or not? ATM, we've got all the ancient and medieval plus first med. DLC included in the randomizer.

Let me know your thoughts over the next week and I'll go from there.

Personally I'd like to start as soon as before DL as possible, I think the release is a month from now so the Chaos Tourney would start right at beginning of next DL season if you waited for the new DLC, no?

I'm ok with waiting if that's what the majority want, but I'd rather get the tourney going and be in the midst of it when next DL season takes off.

This is my first contact with this tourney. I could play at any time...

Starting immediately would be my preference.

OK, thanks for the feedback. We will not wait for the next DLC, but will start in two weeks.

Here's an overview of how it'll be run.

1. Due to popular demand, I will be adding divisions based on mirrored matches. In such divisions you and your opponent will play using the same armies and map twice, once as each side. Divisions will be from 5-6 players for a total of 8-10 battles. You may re-roll the map once if both players agree, but you will use the same map for both battles. You may sign up for a mirrored division, regular division or both.

2. In the regular divisions, then number of matches will be contingent on the number of people who sign up.

5-6 two matches vs each player - 8-10 altogether.
7-13 one match vs each player for 6-12
14-26 Divide into two divisions sorted by CT rankings one match each for 6-12
27-39 Divide into three divisions sorted by CT rankings one match each for 8-12.
40-52 Divide into four divisions sorted by CT rankings one match each for 9-12.

Rookie players will fill in divisions in the order they sign up.

3. All matches will be potluck for both armies and terrain with both date and geography filters turned off. these are medium-sized battles so 1200 points.

4. After a bit of research and experiment, I have made a spreadsheet which can randomly generate 300 matches based on the current 388 lists. We will use a website randomizer to generate the distribution of the battles to the pairings.

5. Each player may request one re-roll of battlefield. If both agree, an additional re-roll can be done. A re-rolled battle is to be set to the same armies as originally generated; only the field can be re-rolled.

5. Tourney will run a minimum of 8 weeks with additional weeks added for battles over 8 to a maximum of 12.

6. In regards to other details, we will follow the rules and guidelines posted for Digital League play.

7. Players need to own both Ancient and Medieval and all DLCs for both. We can accept one player per season per division who doesn't own all the DLCs. Such a player will need to have his matches created by his opponents.

8. The default battle type is OPEN BATTLE. If both players MUTUALLY AGREE, any of the other battle types can be played instead.

9. I'll leave sign up open until 9/23, so you've got 2 weeks to decide.

I will play regular please. There's no pain if you get the slave revolt army in a mirrored match. To me, the Chaos Tourney needs some pain.

Unfortunately, at minimum, you need to own the medieval game to participate, as that is required for setting up time warp matches between medieval and ancient armies.
