So has anyone played ao1942 with galland in core, what is diffrent to when you realese him in 1941 ?
yeah i dont have a save where i didnt realese him and im coward to try that, mby you cant play operation cerberus ?
From what I know right now, I strongly feel that they should have forced Galland from your core, and at the same time awarded you a replacement unique fighter hero with similar (or same) attributes.BaronVonKrieg wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 2:22 pmi mean if you can have galland flying for you and still being a general of fighters i see that as a win win scenario
Major Erich Hartmann would do nicelyadiekmann wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 11:29 pmFrom what I know right now, I strongly feel that they should have forced Galland from your core, and at the same time awarded you a replacement unique fighter hero with similar (or same) attributes.BaronVonKrieg wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 2:22 pmi mean if you can have galland flying for you and still being a general of fighters i see that as a win win scenario
"...I understand losing such a capable officer as Major Galland is disappointing, but we think you will be pleased with his replacement, Major __________ as well."
That way you don't "lose" a hero, you're just replacing him and it keeps the narrative historically accurate without "weakening" your core.
Yeah, I was secretly hoping that we'd get him before AO42 released. However, he began his combat career in '42, so in AO41 would have been too early (historically). But there are plenty of others to choose from...BaronVonKrieg wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 7:46 amMajor Erich Hartmann would do nicelyadiekmann wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 11:29 pmFrom what I know right now, I strongly feel that they should have forced Galland from your core, and at the same time awarded you a replacement unique fighter hero with similar (or same) attributes.BaronVonKrieg wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 2:22 pm

i get the thing where they want to skip some people for political reasons, but what always puzzled me was why wasnt kurt knipsel never introduced.CaesarCzech wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 2:30 pm that or if you released him you get Hartmann since Galland pushed for it.
Boy, you guys keep saying what I was thinking/hoping before AO42 was released. I was wondering who/what the 2 new unique heroes were going to be in this DLC. The two that I would have bet on, or hoped for, is a fighter hero (to replace Galland) and a tank hero, specifically Knipsel. Instead we got 2(!) of AT/AA heroes (and it remains to be seen if we still get both once the patch is applied), and young Manstein. We are half way through AO and we still have only one unique tank hero. I find that surprising. Some of this is based on the GC in PC1.BaronVonKrieg wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 5:09 pmi get the thing where they want to skip some people for political reasons, but what always puzzled me was why wasnt kurt knipsel never introduced.CaesarCzech wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 2:30 pm that or if you released him you get Hartmann since Galland pushed for it.

BTW, what special bonuses would you have given a Knispel unique hero?
Needs to be something that's different from Albert Kerscher...BaronVonKrieg wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 8:27 amhe should get unique bonus something named like Panzer Ace with high ATadiekmann wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 10:54 pmBoy, you guys keep saying what I was thinking/hoping before AO42 was released. I mean wasnt Knispel in trouble because he intervened to stop abuse of Soviet POW ? and at Oswec he passed on opportunity to easily destroy soviet convoy because soviets were escorting civilians. Like i dont get why they dont put him there.BaronVonKrieg wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 5:09 pmi get the thing where they want to skip some people for political reasons, but what always puzzled me was why wasnt kurt knipsel never introduced.CaesarCzech wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 2:30 pm that or if you released him you get Hartmann since Galland pushed for it.

I would propose something like this:
+3-5 Soft and Hard Attack
+1 Speed
Precision Weapon
Phased Movement
yeah i get why they woulnd want Michael Wittmann, but krut thats a puzzleCaesarCzech wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 10:01 amI mean wasnt Knispel in trouble because he intervened to stop abuse of Soviet POW ? and at Oswec he passed on opportunity to easily destroy soviet convoy because soviets were escorting civilians.
