Has anyone ever heard of figures made by Odział Ósmy and if so what kind of quality are they?

They are good. Similar in size and shape to mirliton, not quite as good IMO but they mix well with them so are excellent additions to provide variety to a teutonic or feudal army.

Yep - I've heard good things about them too. They come in "unit-sized" packs, and the boxes have excellent photos of the painted minis, so http://www.fighting15sshop.co.uk/medieval-174-c.asp for example has pictures of the box artwork.

The range covers Teutonic Knights, Poles & Lithuanians for Tannenberg 1410

Yes, I have the Lithuanians. They are nice box sets.

brilliant figures, but the metal is alarmingly hard - I often pull off flash with a fingernail, trying that with these guys will leave you in hospital.
but they are wonderful sculpts (though limited in poses) - my minis of choice for the limited periods they do

Be aware that they are mulit part castings. The horses come in two parts with the rider separate. The lances are also separate (but with cast-on hands). So, you can't even replace them. I think also that some 'may' have separate arms

Nice but a bit too much of a b@ll-ache for 15mm I thought

I wouldn't buy them unseen - in the bare lead so to speak
