Does specialisation points carry over?

Picked up the USSR trilogy, am at Moscow in Red Star and was just wondering if your Spec points carry over when you export the core? I've been banking them, as I haven't really needed them yet. I know your spec choices do, but the points banked?

Does the team take a bit more care with the writing in the sequels? I've been fairly disappointed at the numerous spelling errors and missing words in the briefings and victory messages for Red Star so far. It is very sloppy, and I thought they should be easy fixes?

If you import your core army from a previous DLC in the trilogy both the specialisations you unlocked and surplus spec points you still had in the previous part are taken over.

(edited for clarity)

Just to raise this with you;

I imported from Red Storm to Red Steel and noted that I had 23 points at the end of the first DLC and that carried over into the imported save, so the second part appears to be incorrect.

I am interested in this...does it mean that importing core gives you massive vantages compared to a non-core playthrough?
I mean you get specializations unlocked for free plus the heroes, not counting the experienced units.

You're correct, both specs and spec points are taken over. Sorry for the confusion, I edited my post above accordingly.

Yes, it's meant as some kind of reward to ppl who made the effort to play through the earlier DLC(s), and also avoids that we'd "rob" the player of something he already earned.

Of course players who played the earlier parts can still continue without core import, for example if they want to make things more challenging.

There are usually a couple of triggers for players who do not import, for example you can often still get somehow the commanders from earlier parts if you don't have them already.

But overall you are certainly better off using imported cores, esp. in regard to specs and unit XP.
