Units forced to flee map?

Hi my Google fuu has failed me....
What chance does a unit have of returning off map if it was in good order when it decided to flee the battle?
What percentage loss is given against the player who has a unit exit?
Romans without Cavalry chasing on foot is no fun...

But the enemy cavalry might be encouraged to run away?

5% per turn.
What percentage loss is given against the player who has a unit exit?
None if they pursued off. Half the normal rout % for the unit if they evaded off - which is refunded if they return.

Thanks RBS, a supplementary question where do they return? The same square or within a few squares?

The latter. You can’t park a unit to prevent them from returning.

Fair enough, just wanted to park a unit in the vicinity which will be good enough. I think if they do return the opposing player gets a turn with it sat in place if I have observed correctly?

Now to see if I can get my foot troops some bicycles to try and catch these slippery horse archers.
I will now have to Google evading Cavalry, distance evades and likely paths...
