Shooting in Impact Phase

Hi all,

Is shooting in support in the Impact phase, shooting, or hand-to-hand?

The reason I'm asking is this:

Lets say I have one BG of 6 very brave Huscarls with 3 Huscarl archers in support.

On impact, 6 enemy cavalry charge the Huscarls frontally. There are no overlaps. The dice will be as follows:

6 Dice from the Cavalry (2 each)

6 Dice from the Huscarls (2 each) Plus 1 Dice (1 dice per 2 = 1) -OR- Plus 2 Dice (3 dice and lose one per 2 = 2)

So, the question is:

Do they get 1 dice per 2 shooting LF

=OR=

Do they get 1 dice per shooter and lose 1 per 2 for being LF?

That's what I thought, that bastard Martin ripped me off one dice with 5's to hit!

No WONDER I lost so badly!

It has been covered before on the forum but I am not sure which thread it was in.

Support shooting dice are still impact dice but they use shooting POAs - see P98
