Slitherine

Hello.

I purchased the game yesterday on Steam and after successful install I was able to launch CoM for Windows. After playing a bit I saved and exited. Later in the day I tried to launch the game. I got to the Slitherine launcher but after pressing 'play' the launch failed and I got the message "An unhandled exception occured. Please report this bug to the developers. Please attach a saved game file that can be used to reproduce this crash."

This crash was reported by another player on the Steam forum. Anyone else experiencing this? I have a PC that I bought in December that is more than capable of running the game.

Does anyone know where to send the saved game files? Severay said on the Steam forum to email it to him but I can't locate his email.

Maybe a problem with your router? We had a similar experience that the Internet connection was lost on laptops. Replaced the router and everything went back to normal. We are currently using a Linksys AC3000 router. Try to change the router too.

Router works fine.

I've done a clean install of the newest version of CoM4W by activating the Steam Key [MoM is already installed on Steam} and I still get the unhandled exception error when I try to launch it on two separate computers. The router is the common element but I don't have any router related problems otherwise.

I posted this elsewhere but I'm confused on how to install MoM and CoM4W from the Slitherine store page; I don't want to run this on Steam. Do I need to download previous versions of MoM and CoM4W or is the latest version inclusive? Do I need to download and install Caster of Magic and Master of Magic in order to get CoM4W to work?

Any help with step by step installation instructions if you don't want to run this on Steam would be very much appreciated.

Figured out that it was McAfee firewall was preventing launch.

But this is banal and simple - it was necessary to immediately think about the firewall.

Turns out it was not the firewall, as the problem has resumed. Slitherine support is stumped. So not so simple afterall.

Perhaps if your intention is to offer advice you skip the insults?
