Hi.
Many times i tried to use the custom battle generator to play a simili battle like Gaugamela or Issos, and i need a large field, plain and flat field without much ground feature.

And it is really hard to generate it.

If i select agricultural field, i often have a large stream in the middle
If i select desert, there are tons of hill, rough ground and things like that.

It is quite frustrating. The battlefield generator have too few options.
Also, there is no way to have a preview of the battlefield before creating it, and i cannot regenerate it until i found the perfect battleground !!!

I think without diving into the code you have two options. First - create this scenario yourself, which is not that hard to do. Second, albeit lazier and non-optimal one, is to choose Steppes. Pot Luck should generate mostly flat open terrain.

I asked it one year before at here and asked it recently in the Medieval's forum,I really hope they could add a plain/flat field type map(Not only steppes,steppe maps could only used for specific areas like Eastern steppes) to the map selections for both games.It's not a kind of hard work and It's good for the large scale open battle and mainly cavalry battle(Like Lechfeld,Marchfeld etc. in history).

I once tried to create a more "level playing ground" and tweaked MapGenerateBattle.BSF.
Downside of it is that marsh has completely disappeared.
