What does 4+1 mean on surface vessels?

What does 4+1 mean on surface vessels? I attach 4 f18s but this doesn’t work. What is the +1?
Long time ago, I played this nice game.
As far as I remember, 4+1 needs 4 fighter planes with anti ship or ground load and 1 plane with electronic warfare (ECM). The color code for this is light blue.
