Just my 2 cents here. I'm not particularly interested in the Napoleonic rules, however if they included lists for the Jacobite Rebellions of the 1700's I could be convinced to buy these!

That makes two of us. I have minimal interest in Napoleonics though I have played some great Napoleonic games in 6mm using a friend's set up. Jacobites though is something I would love to do if I could find a set that wasn't "Colonial gaming but in kilts" if you see what I mean.

Exactly my friend! I think FoG is a perfect fit for large blocks of laochbar axe, claymore, longbow wielding clansmen in 28mm!

I would think that would made into a supplement? Covering the 1700's and such.. I would guess it would take elements from the FOGN aspects and FOGR.. The seven years war is a bit different to Nappy's or Renaince.

Good point. And brings another question to mind...how late will the Napoleonic Wars sup go? Most Napoleonic rules end in 1815, some extending to the Crimean Wars (1850's) and some (Volley Bayonet, etc...) extending all the way through Colonialism and the "Age of Rifles " (c1850-1914),

While I wouldnt be interested in Napoleonic Gaming per-se, I would be interested in gaming Zulu, Mahdist, Bulgarian-Turkish (1912) and Franco-Prussian Wars. It doesnt seem a long stretch to have the Napoleonic Wars also cover Colonial gaming. Business wise however, why cram two books worth of material into 1 if you can get twice the money!

To be honest, I was never really interested in gaming Zulus til I got some free samples from Wargames Factory. Really nice and an inexpensive way to build up a LARGE army! They paint up nice too:

Zulu war's and such.. Really a totally different scale to European wars... The British would be in platoons or companies and the Zulus and the like are..( I don't know nothing about the period) Companies and Battalions, Brigades?(Wrong phrases i know.. but just to get the idea across) For Fog Scale i can see the Franco-Prussian war and the Crimean war.. But for Zulu and Boer wars.. Not so much. Apples and Oranges.

Zulus are in Regiments, but I would think game could be scaled down appropriately w/ same rules so that each stand of Brits = a platoon, each BG a company and so forth. Modify ranges and movement accordingly and you got urself a colonial game with the same rules

Might I suggest you look at a set of rules called Ga Pa. They are written by a Swedish guy who works in Ireland and are basically for the Great Northern Wars and Wars of the Spanish Succession etc. They work just fine though for Jacobite rebellion and we have fought many excellent and amusing games using them over the last 18 months or so.

I suspect there will be a Jacobite list in the Renaisance Duty and Glory supplement; as that covers Europe from 1660-1698 (and should cover the 1685 uprising).
