when you have outdate units with 3. 5, 7. etc. supply so they can't be deployed. do you just delete them or is their anyway to benefit from them?

It is safe to do some pruning of outdated equipment, especially when you will not be getting any more of them. Example, Hotchkiss H35 tanks by the time you are fighting in the Soviet Union.
But be careful with pruning, some special token units are stored in this system, and you wouldn't want to just casually discard something like those Jet aircraft blueprints that were taken during Sea Lion 1940.
Personally, I tend to prune frequently, but some units I always keep as trophies. It's fun flavor to deploy a unit of French tanks into Russia until I finally run out of spare parts for them (and very historical BTW).

Skipped it first time here, thinking it was the same option like in base game that directly goes to a German victory end, then noticed that you still go to Greece anyway, and picked it in my second run. You won't get anything from skipping it, and may even lose something, like those skippable training mission and other operations, i.e. hero rewards, more kills, exp and medals, more capturable equipments.
Basicly you joined the operation, managed to make a bridgehead, and found RN blocking any naval supply route, sunken all KM large ships with ease, and was forced to retreat back to the continent.

The 2 main rewards for going to sealion are the series of aircrafts you can get and a special metoer jet token which is going to pay off in future dlcs. They are the hardest missions in AO1940 but you do also get a chance to reset your prestige to 8500 so if your in a bad shape it can be a good way to reset (or buy a bunch of really expensive units, take the reset, and sell those units to just make a nice profit). The primary goal is to reach the Great West Aerodome in the north western edge of the London scenario as that has the jet token.
If you don't want that though then there isn't really that much for the 4 sealion scenarios besides some spitfires (which you can also just get some in Crete for AO1941).

They're nearly identical. The differences are:
Code: Select all
Unit Cost Air Att. Init. Air Def.
Bf 109E 110 10 5 6
Bf 109F 130 11 7 7
Spitfire Mk.II 140 11 6 9
I packed my best air heroes into a wing of Spitfires (Galland gets his wish!), but it's only one of my active fighter wings. The others are a Hurricane Mk.IIC (also obtained from Op. Mercury), a French Dewoitine D.520, and a Bf 109 wing that was the first into every engagement because it has unlimited replacements. Throughout 1940, the best available German fighter for me was the Bf 109E, so the Spitfire was an obvious upgrade. At the beginning of 1941, the 109F became available (I play with the Retrograde general trait, which delays new equipment by 6 months), but I kept my French and English wings active. The D.520 has a great range. The Hurricane has a good ground attack and so is a nice middle ground between a pure fighter and a tactical bomber. And the Spitfire is just something I'm going to fly until it becomes a liability.
So after Operation Mercury, captured British aircraft have made up half my fighter wings. I would have been just fine without them, but I like fielding them and I like that each wing has a specific role within my air superiority force.
