INTRODUCING: Slovakain campaing in 1939
"RUSH FOR BRATISLAVA" / "Slovakian-Hungarain "Little war"

Hello guys! our first Topic will be based on the first two scenario which takes palce in slovakia 1939.
[HISTORICAL PATH]: You can choose to expand the Subcarpathian, Ung valley (to secure the local rail route) while skirmishing the newly formed Slovakian republic in the slovakian-hungarian "little war" This event was possible because Hungary invaded Subcarpathia and that meand slovakia and the Subcarpathia region had no clear, "offical" border on map, so Hungary took advantage from it.
[NON-HISTORICAL PATH]: Or you can take advantage, and Retake the New non-offical capital city of the Slovakian Republic while Josif Tiso and his mans are still in Žilina (Zsolna). But. Are you really going to anger a german puppet?! If you dare to choose this path be ready to have a bad relationship with the germans, but if you strike fast, the germans may let you keep the city if you accept the terms made by the slovakians to change the city in too an "open city". In this timeline the germans taked back only the sudetenland, the Petržalka part of Bratislava have not been occupied in 1938 november. Are you ready to take back the city that once was the Hungarian capital city for 300 years? And the Crowning city of our greatest kings!

[HISTORICAL BACKGROUND] Before the First Vienna award The Hungarian and the Slovakian government had territorial treaty to discuss the fate of southern slovakain territory, This was called the "Komáromi tárgyalások" In the first terms the czechoslovakian government agreed to give Hungary only the Mátyusföld (90% hungarians) but Hungary declined it telling that there was way more hungarains living in czechoslovakia. In they second proposal: they were ready to give Hungary a little bit more but still not enough (for example they dont wanted to return the city of Kassa and Ungvár ~80% ethnic hungarian citys) so later on the two sides agreed to call the Germans and Italians, British, and French side to discuss the situation....
Later on Italy helped the Hungarians communicate with the German goverment and on November 2. 1938 The two side: Hungary and Czechoslovakia signed the First Vienna award. Giving Hungary the southern (mostly Hungarian populated territories of southern Slovakia)

[FUN FACT:] In 1939.03.14 a Subcarpathian self government was formed and lived only 24 hour, making it one of the shortest lived country in the whole History. you can check it out on wikipedia

INTRODUCING: MAP MAKING

HELLO GUYS AGAIN!
In this short topic I will show you how I am making some of my maps. First of all its clar for me that I would like to make a Historical accurate maps. For this I have a huge help from the "MAPIRE" website, because they had the" Royal Hungarian army survey map" from 1941 This map is soo good that I can see clearly everything from that era. for example towns, villages, that later on nowadays becamed bigger, or totally disappeared (like under the ceausescu regime in Romania, or under the yugoslavian communist partizan actions) I will link this map for you guys . So after I watch these maps, I simply create a Pad picture and place it in the Editor with: /File/Add Pad image... soo its really easy for me (But later on many scenario takes palce outside the Carpathian Basin soo i have to create them VERY carefully! or I can simply import maps from McGuba PzC1 ROYAL HUNGARIAN CAMPAING. Then Bad luck happened . It turned out that you can import maps succesfully (if not you must go back to PzC1 editor and deleting all units) but then the whole map makes a 90 degree flip so here is my way how I fixed this issue: first of all you I imported the map to PzC2 and then I taked a screenshot and opened it on paint, then the remaing parts too because it couldnt be in inside one picture so I made the totally map in one picture then saved, and flipped 90 degree. now i got a total picture in good place. then I just loaded in as a PAD image. But sadly its not 100% accurate, But you can still be faster with this tactic unless I figuring out how to fix this problem So get ready guys to get 34, totally accurate maps The main problem is still: to name the town in hungarian or in foreign language

For example in the Bratislava scenario I added numerous names for hexes. Like instead of Bratislava I used: Petržalka, Stanica Petržalka, Starý Most (The famous only Bridge between Bratislava and Petržalka called: Ferenc József Híd in hungarian) then the city center too: Bratislava Hlavné námestie, the castle: Bratislavský hrad, The main train station: Bratislava Hlavná Stanica, and the cargo port for ships: Prístav Bratislava....
(Making Bratislava was personal to me because before the Covid I viseted the city 4x time a year (totally like 17 time, and Im still 19) I really love the city and its people) so I wanted to make my best out of it!
UI: if this situation ends: YOU MUST VISIT THE CITY! and slovakia too, because its a beautifull country, with the kindest people!

I've been waiting a bit for more info to see the potential here and it's really looking interesting. Of course with things like these it's a lot of work and obstacles to overcome, but wishing you all the best. My modding skills are nonexistent, so I can mostly just watch, but at least I can provide some feedback or test things later down the line. I really enjoyed the Hungarian DLC in PzC 1, so fingers crossed!

I wonder if it is possible to maybe edit the Units.csv file and "clone" the militia unit assigning it to the Slovakian faction as well. I have a feeling it would also require copying and renaming some texture/model files, but would potentially allow to avoid having to place Spanish forces as a faction.

Well if your Editing skill is almost equal to zero, then we are in the same boat i dont even know how to make things.... for example I still have problems with the JSGME mod switcher from PzC 1 for example I completely made the Bratislava map in PzC 1 but i cant even loaded it to the actual game and there was no help.... same things happened here, i dont know almost anything about the editor, but with little bit experience from another editors i can make maps perfectly But the biggest differences beetwen PzC 1 and 2 is that now we get STEAM WORKSOP, And a lot of (bloody legend) mates that help us! Thanks for you guys! I think we can figure out every problem were facing against And yes I thinked about it at the very beginning to duplicate or just simply clone units .... But first of all I will rush down all 34 maps, make them perfectly.... then have to make (somehow) around 20-25 new units like Toldi III Turán III Tas, etc etc and i would like to make some very very rare prototipes: like RMI-8, WM-23 "Ezüstnyíl" and a lot more for fun then after we get it, I should make every scenario an objective, try to figurite out how does saving cores work with codes, and then a lot of things with briefing, sound effect, music, portraits: like Horthy, Jány Gusztáv, Teleki Pál, Szálasi Ferenc, Endre Bajcsy Zsillinszky a lot of figure too (if that possible) and etc etc etc..... I have a lot of things to do, but i never give up this project (just like Rick Ashley the pretty ladies )

Update: Nope. I found that the problem is still unknown The chance that the game will load is like 2/3 the 33% is still a mistery, I hope its just my computer generating those problems

Update 2: Well I send all my project files to my laptop.... and there was no problem 6/6 load was succesfuly.... I checked if the maximum or high quallity was the problem, and the answer is no.... simply my computer is trash

I don't even have Panzer Corps 2 yet, and this campaign is making me excited.

I notice that the Lake Balaton campaign is planned as well, that was my favourite part of Panzer General 2 (Defending the Reich, final mission). Today, a nice holiday area, but quite unbelievable the amount of fighting for a last gasp offensive. Is great for a "Hey, I've been there" factor.

Well yes the outcame of Hungary camed only on the end of the war...
My plan is to make like all outcame possible (dosen,t care if alternative history came in, because this is a game, and we know man always thinked about: "what if") soo:

Its 1944 april, the eastern front has reached Hungary from Subcarpathia, the Hungarians had 3 years for building a fortification line called: "Árpád-line". And everything was prefered to the Hungarian side to defend much longer, (because the Kállay administration communicated with the Allies to "Bail out" from the war, if they reach the border from the south. Probably from an amphibious landing from the Adria (somewhere beetwen Fiume-Triest) and the landing could be very easy due to the fact there was no axis forces, but sadly they decided to land on southern france, and there was no enemy defences too, like the americans wrote a letter to the high command, that the only person they saw was a french waiter bringing vine for them This action called "Operation Dragoon"... Anyway.... Everything was good until romania switched side on August 23 1944, making not only Subcarpathia battlefield, but Northern Transilvania too, The Hungarian military high command decided to intervene as fast as possible to reach the historical 1000 year hungarian border.... The Carpathians. They planed this for securying all of the passes, walleys. This might bought us time to wait for the allies forces from the west, or a possible amphibious landing from the Adria. Not many people know but this part is mainly known as the Battle of Torda, but reallity there was an another action not from the north (Kolozsvár-Torda-Gyulafehérvár) but from the south as well. There comes the Battle of Ópálos. (I only saw this mission on Open General hungarian campaing) The Hungarains captured Arad for 4 days, and was stopped at Ópálos, not far from Lippa. The plan for the Hungarians to capture the entire of Transilvania was failled in the very beginning.

In this game I want to make a what if outcame with all possible outcame as possible, so after the Battle in the Subcarpathia ends, you get the massege that the romanians betrayed us, and we have to got there and reach the passes quickly, but here you have to choice to attack from the east or from the north, but in the end if you are succesfull, you can reach the mountains and defend them until the allies landing in the Adria, and after they reach the very first hungarain village, you will change side, and get rid of all the axis forces in the region, liberating Hungary, Slovakia, Czechia, and lower austria, and later on you will be a part of the NATO, on the other hand, if you fail to reach the mountains, (Historically) you get the massege about to "bail out?" or remain loyal. If you remain royal you get the historical path to the very end, (Operation spring awakening) and if you failed that, nothing changed to our current timeline but if you sucess, The allies reach hungary from the west and all of Austria, and the Transdunabian region get liberated so we get a divided Hungary (just like germany after the war).... But if you switch side you get the "operation Panzerfaust" a 2 day operation, to defend Horthy radio speech about the quit from the war, at any cost in the Buda Castle, but be very carefull because historically 50 King Tiger camed (Pz Abt. 503)to sabotage the coup. The mission will be difficult, no core units can be deployed due to he fact that they are still in the front. so you have to face against elite SS forces with King tiger with local police forces, and light anti tank guns. But if you are sucess and can defend the castle and Horthy himself, you made it, and the country offically switched side, and the massege reached the millitary commanders too, then the front leaves Hungary very quickly and you have the chance to Liberate the Transdunabian region very fast, making the war end in hungary in december 1944. so the coutry wont suffer that much all in all. And the 1941 borders reamins, Hungary will be a part of the Warsaw pact later on, such as austria too because the fast move of the front. but if you fail to resist the operation Panzerfaust the country wont change side offically and you have to slowly regain all of Hungary one by one, defending operation spring awakening etc, But in the end Hungary will still lose all of their territory, but at least your core forces, and you as a captain will be pardoned by Stalin himself, and free to go home. and thats it very shortly, if you want to know I will write it down very likely,

And there is an another alternative ending where germany won the war, and you can go home peacefully, but had to fight again in 1947-1948 (Who knows?! )

In this topic I want to demonstrate the Transilvanian fights and the possbile outcome from it
First of all you can choose what direction you want to start it, then after 2 scenarios you get a common map called: "Reaching the southern carpathians" BUT you should be able to deploy your forces that direction you chosed at the beginning!
In this map you have the chance to encircle all of the romanian and soviet forces that managed to arrive inside Transilvania, If you succesfully able to destroy all of theese unit, and dont gived them chance to get out from the encirclement, you can defend the mountain passes towards the Carpathian basin

I can see you clearly know your stuff.

I like alternative history so I can see a couple of more positive alternative history paths near the end of the war. But your scenario/storyline is very good and well thought out already. More player choice and branching is always welcome with me.

1. As you have been mentioning, reclaiming all the lands lost in the Treaty of Trianon which will involve blitzing the Romanians Et Al as they switch sides and likely some side switching too as you pointed out. Horthy needs his navy and ports back haha. This can be said to be the Good End.

2. Another one is an survival as a independent country, by both defeating the Soviets enough to bring them to the negotiating table (even more so than in real life) and beating off the Germans in Operation Panzerfaust. Yeah it was pretty insane with the Tigers, and they even sent Skorzeny with a carpet. So no Arrow Cross, Kingdom of Hungary survives in a Finlandized form with a separate peace. This is probably the extent one can stretch historical plausibility, but as I always point out, a lot of people play Panzer Foo games so you can do crazy things like have Germany invade the east Coast USA. This can be said to be the True End.

3. Going the historical route to the Lake Balaton offensive. Historical End.

4. Successfully retaking Budapest in the Lake Balaton Offensive, throwing the Red Army across the river. Defending the Reich, Hungarian Side End.

I must say I love your attention to the specific geography of cities, look forward to fighting over some of the famous Hungarian geographical landmarks and terrain when this is done. I guess since Operation Panzerfaust/Siege of Budapest features so prominently that we are going to look at smaller scale hexes for Urban Budapest map. If that is the case, that is going to be a treat.

Here is a short topic that I wanted to share with you!
Operation Barbarossa has began! The germans are moving rapidly inside soviet territory, A new "Christian crusade" against the bolsheviks began, due to the fact that almost every christian nation are in the war with them!
Germany, Italy, Romania, Finland, Slovakia, and many volunteers from all around Europe: Denmark, Croatia, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Netherland. later on after the liberation of the Baltic: Estonians, Latvians, Lithuanians, and Russians, Ukrainians..... THE PROBLEM CAME HERE!!!

Due to the fact that Hungary was still willing to stay netural from a global conflict the war on the east has began! the Romanians, and Finnish are at war with them because of Losing Karelija and Bessarabia, they have land that they want back. Slovakia was a puppet, they had no chance to get away with this war. But Hungary.... The hungarian was feared from the german request to join into the war so the parlament was in fear. After 5 days the germans send a letter to the hungarians saying that: "we dont need any help from Hungary, we,re good! but we are willing to accept any hungarian request for help!" making a new dilemma with the hungarian elite about join or not in this new crusade. The fact that if we join and lose were going to be in big trouble, but if we dont join and the germans came out victoriusly, (with romanian assist) they can easyly just ask the germans to return northern transilvania, and they did it very easyly. But 4 days later unknown bombers bombed the city of Kassa (Kosice) which is still a mystery in the Hungarian history that who did that!! So before the specialist identified the attackers the hungarian parlament was accepted to send a "Gyorshadtest" against the soviet union!
THIS DOESN,T MEAN THAT HUNGARY DECLARED WAR ON THE USSR! So the Gyorshadtest (means "Rapid corps" in english) made up very quickly with all the motorised and fast, troops that the country had, and send it to Subcarpatia later on (from June 30 to November 6) the long 2000km jorney started! and this is an another story to tell:
In the game you will find this 3+1 scenario 3 Historical:
-Barbarossa
-Uman encirclement
-Defence of the Dnieper river
-[Izyum defence or maybe the Second Kharkiv battle] idk yet if you refuse to go home and help the germans!

I'm not playing PC, but rather stumbled upon this thread. The map of Bratislava looks nice, and I'm no historian or so, but I'm pretty sure that the "Starý Most" wasn't named like that in the 40ies. Basically it means "old bridge" and that name was given/used AFTER the NEW bridge(s) were built over the Danube river later.

And thinking about it, "Petržalka" shouldn't be THAT developed either. It was pushed as cheap worker's housing by the Soviets as far as I know.
You sure you're using map templates from the right time period?

Thanks for the advices Im looking forward for it, at the moment I completed 21 scenarios out of 35 total, and while im making them my editor skill (if its a real thing) got better and better... after I completed all of them I will return them to finnish all problem that i can find. Thanks for the advice really, after making my 12th I realised that, and found again my old pictures from the "Stary most" in german and hungarian pictures (1899) The name is right it was called: "Ferenc József Híd'" or "Ferenz Josefs Brücke" well I thought after 1920 the czechoslovakians renamed it. but it seems like not, I wanted to rename it but first i made all the maps that remained on the other hand is, "Petržalka" I know the "city" had like 3000 inhabitant in 1910 mostly germans, then later on in 2001 its had 117.000 almost slovakian only, I know after the second world war this district becamed a tipical socialist "block house region" where the workers came to live, just like our discrits in Budapest X. with all the concrete house. This is a socialist thing. well really Petržalka wasn,t that huge that time, maybe 9000 inhabitant i guess, so yes i will remove some village terrain from them of course,
For the map.... Im using the Hungarian millitary observation map from the year 1941. The problem is that allmost everything got Hungarian names on it, that time I cant even find any czechoslovakian names from the city, But you can see that im trying to do everything to make it perfect, like i dont added the main and only one airport of Bratislava (Letisko Milana Rastislava Štefánika Bratislava) I know it was built on the early 50,s and that time the only airfield that was available was a bit northern, on the eastern side of the village Pozsonyszőllős (Vajnory) so yes it still has problem which i have to make right, and thats why I thank you very much for your support!

Anyway I would like to realise all the maps after I finnished it, to see if you guys can help me find any problem then I would like to make several new units like +50 maybe. then making the objectives, briefings, (want to add there profil pictures, music, etc) then i will public the V 1.0 anyway if you want to see which map im using for my maps which takes place in Hungary check it out! its free to visit, and its brilliant! As history, better to keep for yourself that "interesting " details. Is not a place to twist things just to be covered by the PC2 game.
History is made by people and written by historians for more than 1000 years.

Im glad that a romanian mate is here finally, I played on "Open General" Panzer general I and II many times, on Open General I played like all 130 campaing.... from the Roman empire era to the 2050,s
But my favourite campaings were in the second world war, played nations which I think Slitherine will never make in future.... Albanian, Slovakian, Norwegian, Finnish, Greece, Yugoslavian partizan, Chetnick, Italian, Frence, Bulgarian
and many more non-historical what if: like Portugal, Czechoslovakia, Ireland, Sweden... played special campaing like the: Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Fallschirmjäger, campaing and like 24 different german campaing and it was awesome
BUT due to the fact that my family from Cluj-napoca (Kolozsvár), and sadly I was burn in Hungary, because my family suffered from many atrocities, they left the country after Caucescu in 1993. That makes a really complicated relation with me and the city, my far elders are burried in there so the city calls me to search for my family history, many of my relative family member and friends from there, Its a beautifull city, the Capital of Transilvania, Home for Corvin Matei. Anyway what im wanting to tell you is that I really like the romanian people there, There is no conflict in "Ardeal" only people from Budapest or Bucuresti want to fight, Im a CFR Cluj fan, and watching all the matches takes place in Liga 1 I remember I meet a romanian guy in the "Gara" (railway station) and we talked for like 1 hours, and I realised that the romanian-hungarian relations are became much better and better, and we must continue that, And I hope our future will be much more cooperative, and friendlier!

On Open General I played 2 romanian campaing takes place beetwen 1941-1945 from Chisineau to the siege of Odessa, capturing the Crimea, then from Kercs to Taman landing, Caucasus, the hard winter to defend the german 6th army near Stalingrad, then slowly returning to Romania, defence of Sevastopol 1944 then the resist of the Iasi-Kishinev offensive, then switching side, and liberating budapest then finnish the campaing in Czechia It was a brilliant campaing! In future if I can get some help, I would like to remake the Open general romanian campaing too, because it was fantastic

[ui: im learning the romanian language recently And the history part about: history is for historians are true, I dont want to show any hate in this game, like it was 70-80 years ago, But I think I will add some massages ingame (for the story to let it be historically accurate) but all in all, after all scenario i will wrote down that: "Only real peace can bring us closer to a better World" my plan is to make the player feel the hate that takes place in that time, to understant how meaningless was that hate politic all around europe in the 20-40,s ]
