how do you get your paratroopers onto planes. i deploy them where the briefing states but no air transport?

Did you buy them trucks?
Trucks don't fly

Also:
If you deploy them over water and have landing craft available they will go in landing craft before airplane.

In PzC1 if you were in air mode would automatically go to air transport.
That hasn't been implemented in PzC2 yet.

Trucks might indeed not fly, but I'm waiting for a Russian campaign DLC and Antonov A-40 as a prototype/gift unit.
