Odd pursuit.

This happened in a DL game, Arab city vs Palmyran.

At the start of my turn there was a Legion in square A. They were fighting Lancers in C, Infantry in D and more Lancers in E.
The Legion routed to square B.
The Lancers in C and Infantry in D were static.
The Lancers in E somehow pursued to square F. How is that possible ?
I noticed something odd in the movement but didn't quite realise what had happened before I had moved another unit up to E.
Asked my opponent to look and see what happened on the replay but he didn't come back with anything.

I guess they were trying to find a route round the other legions.

The infantry wouldn't pursue anyway.

Not sure why the other lancers didn't move. (But I can't see a C)

OK, that makes sense. I hadn't realised that units could pursue by a different route to that of the routers.
It worked out for me OK as they are now winning the battle against the cataphracts.
The 'C' is the square to the left of the 'D', could have been more visible.

The "index" pursuer can't, but the others have to find a different route rather than pursuing in single file.
