There will be two separate divisions, one covering Renaissance period and the second covering battles from the mid 18th Century. I will organise them in separate threads but for the moment please indicate if you would like to play.

You can join one or both of the divisions.
- For the Renaissance period you will either be part of German States team (with French protestant guests on one occasion) or part of the Austrian team/ Polish team.
- For the 18th Century, when we see what is the level of interest you can decide either to be Prussia or Austrian OR to have mirror matches (and I recommend the latter as more fun).

Here is the list of games.

1. Renaissance division

(from Age of Machiavelli) - German States 1543 - 1559 v Austrian 1543 - 1558
(from Tercio to Salvo) - German States 1590 - 1609 v Polish 1576 - 1610 (Winged Hussars!)
(from Tercio to Salvo) - French Hugeonot 1600-1610 v Austrian 1590 - 1609
(From Le Roi Soleil) - German States 1649-1688 v Austrian 1675-1688

2. Later Division, all Odenathus scenarios

Dettingen 1743
Kesselsdorf 1745
Soor 1745
Minden 1759

Cronos09 has previously indicated to me that he is interested in creating a skirmish generator for battles in the War of Spanish Succession and Seven Years War. I very much look forward to that eventuality.

Until then, pointy-sticks for me please [Landsnechts].

Nick.

So it's been years since I played multiplayer or a tourney. How many games total do you think will be played? I ask because my regular laptop will be in repair for a while and I am currently running Pike and Shot on an absolutely ancient IBM Thinkpad T61 with Windows 7... Very slow(the computer that is, not me๐Ÿ˜‰). I'd be up for the Landsknecht version. If I can I'll take the French Hugonots 'for the win Alex' ๐Ÿ˜

Alex, it will be one game a month so rather relaced. I hope you can make it and I am happy that you join the Huguenots team!

Alan,

I'd like to play in both. My preference is the Ausrian/Polish side in the first, and the Prussians in the second.

Hopefully I can convince my opponents to play mirror images of the set piece battles at least. Its great to see the different approaches various players take to the same circumstances,

Andre

There are four games in total, one per month and you are part of either the German States team or the Austrian team. In one of the German States games, the army to be used will be the Huguenots. Hope that is OK.

Taking account of people's preferences, below are the proposed teams.

In line with our usual practice, I have suggested Kiwi players for Captains. The Captain role is to give tactical advice to players or stimulate discussion between the players on how to manage the game, report to me any issues (lateness, players not turning up etc) and general banter on the forum site.

If any of the Captains prefer not to play that role just let me know and I will find a substitute (or you could suggest one).

As usual, let me know of any errors, omissions etc

1. Renaissance

German States / Huguenots

Kiwiwarlord (Captain)
AlexdeTrojan
Gdod
GentlemanRanker
Dang
SMJohnso77
ahuyton

Austrian / Polish

Awesum4 (Captain)
Mael-Boroman
Tomoegozen
Snugglebunnies
Gribol
Cromlechi
snooky51

2. 18th Century

Prussians

Awesum4 (Captain)
Dang
Snooky51
SMJohnso77

Austrians

Gdod (Captain)
Cromlechi
Tomoegozen
Marl-Boroman

I am hoping we find a 9th player and then he and I will join the teams.

Oh, oops, I clearly doubted/postponed for too long.

You can put me down as an extra or substitute if you ever need one. For the renaissance division if possible.
