Abu Parvat fortress units

How do you get units back from the Abu Parvat fortress? Is it just abstracted somehow or can you actually get the same units returned?

You mean the garrison? The garrison is replenished back to full every turn if there are no enemies present in the region.

No, not the automated garrison...
This won't be the exact same units, but units received as reinforcements will draw upon a combat strength you would had sent some turns before. It should be described in the building, but here is the mechanism.
Get units from Abu Parvat: Have a 'credit' in units, and no units are garrisoning the walls.
Send units past Abu Parvat: Be at peace and have units garrisoning the walls.
