While playing multiplayer a problem has occurred with the Russians. First move for the Russians di d weird things.
1) Forward cav was turned to flanks to retreat
2) 2nd line of cav was turned about face
Neither move was recorded to opponent.
an unmoved cav from the left at the river moved forward ~10 squares and shot arrows
an unmoved infantry from the river right moved forward ~10 squares and attacked.

In other attempt we have noticed other weird moves for the Russians. My friend commented that My infantry ran like Zulus to engage (he saw them move ~10 squares from the back line). Have not noticed any for the Mongols.

We may have seen some similar issues in playing Hastings but were not focused on that and they were not as glaring as seen in Kalka River.

Suggestions to fix the problem

Same problem with Kalka River. I put in the opening move for the Russians but all the advance cavalry showed up as just standing there waiting to get hit. I saw that there is an updated version of Medieval but so far have been unable to download it. It's a bit disappointing since I was really looking forward to a good Mongol battle!

There is a known bug with the MP Kalka River scenario causing the effects you describe. When the bug came to light, we did post on the forum advising people not to play it until the update, but that post has since fallen off the front page.

The bug is fixed in today's update.
