The below YouTube link is a callout challenge by one of Slitherine's own! The challenge is increased General Trait Weaknesses based on the number of new subscribers. If you don't watch his content, I'd recommend you do because it's high quality stuff. That being being said, check it out and let's put the pain on The Edmon!
I can recommend it as well - very fun and educational content with a lot of detail going into missions, so for sure something not only interesting to watch, but also to learn from. After doing my own AARs on just General level I enjoy this for the extra difficulty factor.

I am looking forward to seeing just how much damage you guys will do to me .
No problem. And by the way, your Ebro playthrough is very entertaining. My new favorite Edmon quote
"Okay, alright it looks bad but… well and it is" - TheEdmon
This is one of my favorite scenarios! The Devs did a great job with it. I hope you do an AAR on it because it would benefit many first time players.
The British understatement comes creeping out when I'm under pressure it seems .
It's that extra 20% accuracy (accuracy is 50% normally, so this is a 40% increase in attack power) that really hurts you on generalissimus. Ebro is definitely a hard mission on the top difficulty, even if you head into it loaded with prestige.

hi Edmon,
First of all, my gratitude for your fantastic 'guide' videos clarifying various aspects of the game! Finally, a lot of mechanics clicked
Second, when will 1939 start? You're almost done with Madrid... very soon, I think? With general traits, there is an interesting, intra-DLC planning aspect to consider: while having defined airforce is tempting, it's a must for 1940 campaign scenarios. And you need plenty of back-n-forth upgrades of infantry to paras n back. So slow modernization and denied airforce wont work in 1940; IMHO 1939 is more forgiving in that respect. Any plans to 'enable' arty in one of DLCs and stock up German 21" guns or Soviet 203mm will work?

The 1939 campaign will be starting on the 13th of this month. Just in time for the weekend . I hope you are looking forward to it. It will literally be following on from the end of the SCW campaign.
In terms of all your other questions... All will be revealed soon!

Thanks man, I am rewatching all of your videos - in the middle of SCW now. LOVE your farming approach, but very puzzled why you often not use recons to help aim other unit's attack? Again and again I see you're striking and only then moving in your recon

I get asked about this a lot.
Chasing recon bonuses, can cause you problems:
1) I have poor supply, so moving them around constantly burns fuel, which replaces slowly for recons. It can lead to a situation later in a mission where the recons basically are unable to move. Poor supply means you get a flat +4 fuel per turn. Recons can burn 8 fuel/turn very easily.
2) You might move a unit to chase a bonus, only to realize later in the turn you needed it to travel somewhere else to attack / be in position for the next turn.
Often, I go for the recon bonus if it would do something meaningful, I.E. convert a near-kill into an actual kill.

You have done great job in Spain but if you ask me with your current force and stockpiled prestige Ironman mode is crying and calling you Sir Edmond .

Sorry, could you please elaborate? In SCW you dont have 'inefficient supply' hence should have an unrestricted access to fuel? Or you're talking about a generic situation???

Sorry, dropping a spoiler here, I will have poor supply in the ultimate challenge. In SCW it was mostly for the second reason.

Aahah, that's what I guessed.
Thanks a LOT for the ZOC video - it finally clicked for me. One thing you did not cover but I guess I figured it out from your SCW - Spanish troops DONT help ZOC, i.e. they are treated as empty hex, dont harras but dont help you either?
Alas, the Ultimate Shopping Challenge aka Raate Road is at the very end of 1939 . If I am able to stockpile with juicy 203mm and OT-133 there, I could only imagine what you'll do there

I wish I could tell you, but I don't want to spoil any more than I have!
