Hi,
I bought your gold version 1.12 Gold Version Europe at War.
I have all requirements: Windows XP, 2 Mb memory, pentium 4...
I have the newest patches for Java and my graphic card.
I tried 1024x768 and WINDOWED_MODE 1
nothing changes.
The game ends after the Intro, nothing more happens, only a short sound plays.
Mmh the game is still running somewhere in my memory, but not visible.
AND the gold game key dont work for the 1.6 demo version
The Demo version runs without problems !!!!
I am female, blond and good looking, so please

I'm afraid you'll need to make use of our special Female, Blond and Good Looking forum with its far superior service
Look for any error.log file which has been created by the game. Also, are you running the latest XP service pack? What is the model of your graphics card?
The more information you can give us the better we can help get you running.
Cheers
Pip

Thx for your quick answer.
I have a Nvidia GeForce 6600 and all latest patches and Windows service packs (auto update).
I started a windows "save" mode to run the game. It gives me a Ms-Dos window. The game is not crashing, it stops between video and starting the real game. I got only 2 informations after the video ends:
1. the game checked my audio format and those things (again, after intro start).
2. and says: Display Setting Count = 144
Thats all. Well, the Demo version 1.06 is running good. And the gold version not. Maybe it is an idea to make a java hot fix for the gold version too? I really have no plan and tried my very best

Same thing happened to me when the game doesn't accept the Monitor resolution. Try changing your monitor resolution to 1024x768 and WINDOWED_MODE 0
Hope it helps.

I'll ask Johan to check this out - I have a feeling someone who had this issue applied the java hotfix to v1.12 and it worked so you could try that.

Note that the settings.txt file you need to edit is NOT the one in game dir but the one in documents/CEAW/settings.txt and documents/CEAW Fast Play/settings.txt
The on in game dir is used as core original being used if you delete thedocuments folder.
so 2 ways
1) edit the ones in the documents folders (recommended)
or
2) edit the settings.txt in game dir AND delete the document ceaw and ceaw fast play folders. This will force the game to recreate them and using the settings.txt from game dir as base
What resolution do you run at your desktop and does your hardware support 1024x768?

Thanks for help

, but
1. I havent other settings.txt files, except the main file. Maybe the game havent a chance to create the other settings.txt files

2. The game is running great at my wifes pc

she get:Display Setting Count = 109 (I 144, whatever it means) and the game starts

3. my resolution is 1280 x 960, but i also tried 1024 x 768
well, 0:3, but i am full off hope and test a little bit more

Well, I think you have a lot of problems with good looking, blonde and female usern. Some forget their CD and those things. I feared I am one of those (most stupid possibel user) the hole time, but puuuh.
ok here is the solution:
I changed the screen solution from 75 Hz to 60 Hz and it works.
