At the risk of sounding callous has anyone gamed a pandemic? COVID-19 has a mortality rate between 1.4 and 9.9% depending on country, and look at the way civilization has been shaken. A virus with a mortality rate of 35 to 45% is not inconceivable, but would that collapse civilization, constrict and reset it, or could human beings actually rise above their pettiness to save the species? Yes there's Steven King's "The Stand", but that's really a post apocalypse morality tale, good vs evil.
I'm not a designer, I'm a player, and an old one at that. But there's so much potential: resource hoarding (Texas just shut off Mexico on natural gas deliveries), the rich paying off to get shots first, more border restrictions (the AfD in Germany wants to shoot migrants); what would happen if the shit really hit the fan?
How low can humans go?
