Empire Aflame Heartspire problem

Hi folks. I play on the PS4 and have reached the Empire Aflame - Heartspire scenario a couple of times before and although I failed miserably I had no technical problems. Last night I reached the level again but this time I couldn't attack enemy units and they just ignored my own units and in some cases, walked through them. I played through the previous scenario (Sunken Lands) again to see if it made a difference but the problem was the same.
