CURRENT VERSION IS 2.1 (RELEASED JUNE 25th 2021).
DOWNLOAD LINKS:

https://sharemods.com/vziour5ch9bs/EAST ... 1.rar.html
https://www.mediafire.com/file/6qbg3amw ... 1.rar/file

(Note: The whole mod is both on sharepoint and mediafire. What I mean is that if you download from one link, you do not need to then download from the other one. You will already get everything from one.)

INTRO:

Well, I guess it was bound to happen. We were somewhat surprised that FoG Medieval did not feature any Caucasian or middle eastern armies, even though it featured the Mongols and Cumans.

So after arguing for hours about the quality of Ahdath militias, Sistani ayyārān and the color of Saljuq banners... Sabratha and Ardašīr decided to band together to come up with a mod covering the high middle ages in the east. We wouldn't want to be stuck in the cold windy north forever, would we now? ;)

So grab your qalāčūr and don't forget to bring some rāḥat al-ḥulqūm to lighten the mood :D

Armies included in the current version:
  • Fatimid, Ayyubid, Mamluk Egyptians
  • Arab Syrian States (Crusade era)
  • Cilician Armenian
  • Georgian
  • Seljuq Turks
  • Byzantines (pre and post 4th Crusade)
  • Latin Greek
  • Crusader States
  • Ghaznavids
  • Ghurids
  • Hindu North Indian
  • Muslim North Indian
  • Khwarazmian
  • Qara Khitans
  • Second Bulgarian Tsardom
  • Kingdom of Serbia
  • Ilkhanid Mongol
  • German Frontier Marches (Styria, Austria, Carinthia)
  • Sicilian Molsem States
  • Pechengs
  • Wendish Slavs 1000-1168 AD
  • Early HYW French
  • Early HYW English
  • Scots (Britain) 1320-1338 AD
  • English Baronial Rebels 1263-1267 AD
  • English Royalists 1263-1271 AD

CHANGELOG:
- New English armylists for the 2nd baron's war (Royalist and Rebel).
- Updated texture for late average defensive protected spearmen (To distinguish them more from raw spearmen)
- A minor bugfix for an issue with the banners.
- Implementing more SmickeyMcgee graphics (For Turcopoles and Knights).
- Adding missing unit descriptions and armylist descriptions.

Version 2.1 (June 25th 2021):

Version 2.0 (May 31st 2021):
- Mod is now compatible with the Reconquista DLC (uses new unit models including pavisiers)
- Adjusting existing slavic armies (Polish, Rus, Bulgarian and Serbian)
- Integrating new and additional unit textures by SmickeyMcgee
- New Armies added:
  • Wendish Slavs 1000-1168 AD
  • Scots (Britain) 1320-1338 AD
  • Anglo-Irish 1275-1319 AD
  • Anglo-Irish 1320-1399 AD
  • Teutonic Order 1320-1379 AD
- Aśvatthāmā (the elephant) is now most assuredly dead.

Version 1.22 quick fix (March 23rd 2021):
Fixed a bug affecting mounted crossbowmen (obviously caused by Aśvatthāmā and gremlins)

Version 1.21 quick fix:
Fixed a bug with dismounting cavalry.
Added dismounting options for Bedouins and Hobilars

Version 1.2:
New Armies added:
Ilkhanid Mongol
German Frontier Marches (Styria, Austria, Carinthia)
Italo-Normans (Sicily)
Sicilian Molsem States
Italian Guelph
Italian Ghibeline
Italian Papal
Arab (North African)
Pechengs
Early HYW French and English armies added as a bonus.
- Aśvatthāmā (the elephant) is now entirely dead.

Version 1.1:
- Cavalry prices of modded units modified to match those now used in FOG:M
- Bulgarian and Serbian armies added.
- Fixed intro of the Low Countries 1275-1319 AD army
- Turkoman cavalry and Turcopoles now have the same stats. (Upon further discussion we decided that giving Turkoman cav an advantage is not substantiated by events across the whole period. Our previous decision was mostly on the basis of the battle of Hattin alone).
- Aśvatthāmā (the elephant) is now dead.

Version 1.0:
- First version of the mod

Planned Roadmap:

Plans for 2.2:
An albigensian armylist.
We will probably split the "Low Countries" armylists into Separate Flemish and Barbancon ones.
Ardašīr is looking into improving the existing Indian armylist, as well as the Abbasid resurgence and Persian rebels

Enjoy yourselves. But bear in mind that it is likely the whole Middle East from 1050-1270 will appear in a DLC some time later this year.

Well, we don't want to step anyone's toes. But the system itself invites one to expand the lists.

Are you going to cover the Kara-Khitai and the Rajput kingdoms?

And of course I posted in the wrong subforum. I did not realize Medieval II got its own subforum separate from FoG II.

Any chance of a moderator moving this thread to the correct place? Apologies for the confusion.

Hey guys, version 1.0 is available. It is for custom battles, there should be no bugs or missing units. You can find some missing unit descriptions (these are a low priority for me at this point, I'd rather release more armies to you and then add the descriptions).

DOWNLOAD LINK:
https://sharemods.com/ukn36bmue7cf/EASTERNWIND.rar.html

INSTALLATION: Unpack the EASTERNWIND to your respective FieldOfGloryMedieval\CAMPAIGNS folder. So that the Armylists.txt file would be in a directory like: C:\Users\Ja\Documents\My Games\FieldOfGloryMedieval\CAMPAIGNS\EASTERNWIND

Armies included:
Fatimid, Ayyubid, Mamluk Egyptians
Arab Syrian States (Crusade era)
Cilician Armenian
Georgian
Seljuq Turks
Byzantines (pre and post 4th Crusade)
Latin Greek
Crusader States
Ghaznavids
Ghurids
Hindu North Indian
Muslim North Indian
Khwarazmian
Qara Khitans

Nice work adding those lists!

But I think it should be added heavy infantry for the Bulgarians and Serbs. There were armoured spearmen, axemen etc.-not in large quantities, but they were present. Ostmen models could be used for axemen and some armoured spearmen.
Also the armoured noble lancer model is quite obsolete for 13-14th century, maybe the erly model of Knights&sergeants.

Regards!

Thanks for the suggestions. We were under the impression that "armored" (as opposed to "protected") infantry would not be present in sufficient amounts in any of the Slavic armies in the 13th century (save maybe Bohemia) to have their own unit. Though we will probably include some in the post 1320 army lists. But revising slavic armies is in our roadmap.

We plan to release Ilkhanate, German border marches (Styria, Carinthen, Austrian lands etc) and Italian armies in our next update.

After that, our roadmap is to look into revising Slavic armies and the Teutonic armylist.
After that, we will look into Iberian armies as well as early 14th Century French & English ones. We will also probably split the "Low Countries" armylists into Separate Flemish and Barbancon ones.

NOTE:
We added the Roadmap section in the first post to let everyone know what we will be doing next. Things may of course change and completing everything will take some time, as we both have very time-consuming corporate jobs and personal lives that we also need to manage 8)

Not to mention that we spend quite a bit of time reading sources and arguing with one another. We are just having a heated debate about the Italian early 14th century Crossbowmen and the predominance of the Italian bill-style weapons like the roncone right now

I do not think you can use these in MP games, as it uses a different squad file than the vanilla game (for example we have the Nestorian infantry unit type which is not found in the vanilla game at all)

Actually you can use your Mod for MP, but both players would have to install it in their Documents/My Games/FieldOfGloryMedieval/MULTIPLAYER folder.

I answered VenG's query in another thread, he seems to be okay now.

Thats a great mod! I have downloaded the last version and had great fun! So many thanks for the effort you have put into it.

I think theres a bug, when playing as one of the two italian factions against the other (i dont know how to write their names in english), i found that a unit of light crossbowmen or javelinmen on horses did a tremenduous amount of damage, like 70 casualties against knights. I dont know if It happens to other people too.

Also, a question. How can i use the mod lists to design my own scenarios? I have this mod and the time warp, but the editor only shows me the units of the base Game. I dont know if its intended or im clumsy.

Wow, ok we shall investigate. Many thanks for reporting it. The Guelphs, Ghibelines and the Papal armies all have the exact same light mounted crossbow unit ("LH_Xbow"). They do not have any mounted javelinmen.

Currently it is set-up for skirmish, Ardaeshir can probably answer your question in depth, but give him some time as he's very busy in real life this week.

Are you sure it isn't just that the battle was being played with a high strength multiplier?
