My game just darkened.

I took a break from playing, When I cam back this happened:

I've restarted the game several times. Nothing seems to work.

It looks like you are playing the Hastings scenario. The Twilight lighting effect does kick in 4 turns from the end in that battle. It is darker than the normal lighting, and intentional. It is a bit too dark for my taste, however I believe that the art department are going to review all the lighting effects, and so it may be changed in a future update.
