I think the game use the 11th century's kite shield spearmen(both armoured and unarmored) models to the 13th century even early 14th century(like the French army list)is not accurate.In 13th century the kite shields were realy seen and in that time soldiers were more perfer the heater shields.You should make a armoured heater shield spearmen unit instead of armored kite shield spearmen for those army lists which cover the late 12th century to 13 and early 14th century.Especially the French.And although you have the raw and average heater shield spearmen units but you don't put them to some of the army lists which covers that late two centuries.It's really wired why the Germen lists(13 to early 14th century) used them but French and some others not(not included the Eastern Europe,just talked about the Western/Central/Northern Europe）.
