Scythed Chariots as Rear Support

I can not find anything in the rules that would bar a BG of "average" Scythed Chariots from providing rear support for an "average" or "poor" BG of the appropriate size deployed in front of them. Somehow, this doesn't seem right. I would think, if anything, the supported BG would be nervous the Chariots might go impetuous (to coin a phrase :) ) and burst through them. However, in FoG, the Chariots can hang well back out of 6MU Difficult Move range and still provide rear support. Have I missed something?

They can do this but since the chariots are usually in groups of 2 they would only support 4 bases. I can't see why the troops in front would be any more worried than they would be with any other chariots behind them. The 'impetuous' scythed chariots of other rule sets is a bit of an approximation in itself. The chariots were in perfect, if clumsy, control until the charioteer whipped the horses into a gallop. It's not as if these were card carrying nutters.
