This new version just look awesome. Erik commented on it on Twitch, and oh my. This is a complete rebuild of the code base with additions that are just great.
There are some design ideas which are also very clever, like gating some technologies to having enough bonuses from special research sites.
I also dearly appreciate the finer details in automation, like scouts automated to only spy on the enemy, etc.

Just coincidentaly, I started a "Distant Worlds: Universe" game today and searched the web for some news. What a pleasant surprise to find the successor DW2 has been announced.
By this occasion, I wish to state my sincerest thanks to the developpers! From my perspective, DWU is truly a gem in the rts 4X space game genre.
Being both hyped and happy!
