Hello,

Coming back to FOGII after a few months not playing it, Im experiencing problems in saving or loading games.
Saving games is totally impossible and a large part of previously saved games doesnt load anymore...

I have tried to update => nothing changes
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall => nothing changes

Maybe I miss something...
If someone has an idea...

Are you using Windows Controlled Folder Access? Are you running any file syncing software?

Hi,

Since I am using Windows 10, I suppose that I am also using Windows Controlled Access Folder.
Due to my lack of computer knowledge, I dont understand what your 2nd question means exactly ? I would say that I close all others programs when launching FOGII...

Let me know if more informations about my system are needed.

You can check if you are using protected folder access as per:

It could also be a permissions issue for the folder. Try renaming Documents/My Games/FieldOfGlory2 and then running the game, it will recreate the folder and you can try saving and loading.

Syncing software means something like Google Drive etc that might be trying to sync the folder when FoG2 is using it.

Thanks for answering.

I have checked my Windows Security System and can confirm that Im NOT using the option of Controlled Folder Access.
Concerning the other question, the game is installed in a 1To SSD and Im not using Google Drive, OneDrive (or equ.) for any purpose...

At last, I tried to rename the folder unsuccessfully. Curiously, the system says that I haven't the rights to do it...???

Hi,

After a basic inspection of my PC according to my little understanding of computers, I think that FOGII saved gamed are recorded (systematically, not my decision) both on my SSD and on OneDrive.
If I follow your answer, that could explain why the game does not have access to these files...
Unfortunately, I do not know yet how to prevent these files (and others) to be saved on OneDrive too...

I still do not understand why this problem suddenly appeared after months of normal play...

Hi,

OneDrive has been inactivated.
The last update has been installed (1.5.34).
But, the game still does not want to save the game... When I click on SAVE GAME after naming the save, nothing happens...
And when I try to load some of my previous saved games (it works normally for some of them), FOG asks me if campaign is still installed ...?!

I come short of ideas... One more uninstall/install ?

Do you have rights to rename the Documents/My Games/FieldOfGlory2 folder? If not then no amount of reinstalling will work. The key problem is that somehow the permissions on that folder have been messed up - if you cannot rename it then the game cannot correctly access it.

Are you able to login as Administrator to perhaps solve this issue?
